There are a lot of ways to defend your family at home. Some of them work well. There are also a lot of ways to get into trouble in the middle of a confusing situation with a gun in your hand.
I don't plan on being lucky. Why not walk through your defense plan with your family today.
This is what I plan to do. |

Rasmussen released two polls this week showing former President Donald Trump still has what it takes to remain popular with Republican voters, while former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is coming on strong.
Trailing Haley is President Joe Biden, the polling company’s numbers show. According to Rasmussen, “If the 2024 election were between Haley and Biden, 45% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for Haley and 41% would vote for Biden.” |

The 5.56mm NATO round has been the gold standard AR-15 cartridge for well over 60 years. It has been the ammo issued to our frontline soldiers for over a generation and has seen combat on 5 continents in the hands of the U.S. Military and our NATO allies.
However, some shooters wanted more out of their AR platform, they wanted the ability to shoot a 30-caliber bullet without switching over to the AR-10 and 308 Winchester.

Since its adoption, the SIG Sauer M18 service pistol has been fielded broadly across U.S. military units. As I saw more of the SIG pistols in holsters across the armed forces, I decided it was time to develop familiarity with the platform, so I purchased one of the commercially available guns. Immediately, a number of qualities jumped out at me, and it is important to note that the SIG Sauer M18 was crafted as a service pistol, as such, it may have less application in the broader marketplace. |

Colorado counties would be able to prohibit people from discharging firearms in specific unincorporated areas under a bill moving through the state House. Currently, a board of county commissioners can designate unincorporated areas of a county where it’s illegal to discharge firearms. However, the commissioners can’t prohibit the discharge of firearms in shooting galleries, on private grounds or in residences in circumstances where persons and property aren’t endangered. Plus, an area must have a population density of 100 people or more per square mile for commissioners to enact a designation. |

It seems to me the quicker one season ends, we start thinking and then planning for the next one. For some of us, there is never much of a break between the last day of the season and opening day of the next. It never really matters the species, but opening day is, well, just opening day whatever the season is.

Taurus introduced its newest, most carry-friendly, rimfire pistol earlier this year, and it aims to be both feature-rich and easy on the wallet. The new TX22 Compact looks to be the hat trick in Taurus's .22 LR handgun lineup, coming on the heels of the well-received standard and Competition-sized models. Unlike the other formats of the TX22, the new Compact runs a 13+1 round magazine and not the more commonly-used 16+1.

The Cornhusker State helped arm the military in World War II, is home to one of the largest ammo makers in the country, and has Constitutional Carry on the agenda. Well known as a sportsman's destination for chukars, pheasants, and quail, the state's prairie land is host to numerous statewide hunting events. Under that grassland is a bunker complex that once formed Naval Ammunition Depot Hastings, one of the largest munitions facilities in the country.

The 380 ACP is the smallest caliber pistol I’d be comfortable concealed carrying for self-defense. However, the 32 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) has a devout following in the CCW community who prefer to carry incredibly small, lightweight picket pistols for deep concealment or as a backup gun.

Not long ago, pistols with fully pink polymer frames—an effort by manufacturers to appeal to the growing number of female enthusiasts—routinely made headlines. They certainly couldn’t be ignored in the sea of black, gray and blued metal at FFL counters. Sales were, and still are, going strong, but there was an interesting byproduct. |
