"But the case was about much more than Mrs. Grunow's loss, as shown by the participation in the suit by the Brady Center to Prevent Handgun Violence, the nation's largest gun-control group. Mrs. Grunow's attorney, Bob Montgomery, made no secret of his agenda. Montgomery, who gained recognition by winning an $11.3 billion settlement against the tobacco industry, said, 'The purpose of this case was to bring to the public and the legislature that the Saturday night specials have no legitimate purpose whatsoever.' Montgomery's partner and co-counsel Rebecca Larson added, (Mrs. Grunow's) primary objective was to make a difference in the gun industry, and she's done that." |

"But Mr. Ricker, who has been working for more than two decades in the gun industry, including a stint as a lawyer for the N.R.A., said the gun makers had long known that 'the diversion of firearms from legal channels of commerce to the black market' takes place 'principally at the distributor/dealer level.' "
" 'Corrupt dealers' make it easy for criminals and juveniles to buy guns, Mr. Ricker said, by allowing practices like 'straw sales,' in which an individual buys a gun on behalf of someone who is prohibited from purchasing a gun because of a criminal conviction or his age."
------- Consider: A study done by Chuck Schumer two years ago reveals 140 high crime gun stores, retail dealers which were the source of at least 50 guns traced to crimes committed in 1998, represent roughly one-tenth of one percent of all federally licensed gun dealers. So this traitor to the Constitution wants gun manufacturers to take responsibility for the actions of a tiny corrupt minority of people they do business with. Could only make sense to a gun grabber. |

"Detective Chief Superintendent John Shatford said police were extremely concerned by the frenzied nature of the attack and the fact that it was in broad daylight."
------- Well what exactly did they expect when the populace is unilaterally disarmed? Of course criminals will get bolder and more violent! They have no one to fear!
She had a cell phone and a set of keys when she died--both of which are routinely recommended by anti-gunners as nonlethal forms of self defense: Call the cops! Use the keys to scratch him! (And then die!)

"On average there are 314 burglaries a day in London. The police solve only 12% of these crimes. They pretty much admit that crime is beyond their control. In most cases when a break-in is reported, the police confine their actions to offering sympathy and a free session of "distress counseling."
------- Meanwhile, if a citizen does try to defend his property, he gets thrown in jail and is denied parole, because he's considered a "danger to burglars." Is there any justice in this country? |

"In a republic, at least, in our Republic, a Bill of Rights specifically spells out what 'the people' (the majority) can, and cannot vote on; and the individual (the smallest minority) is thereby protected from the whim of the mob.
