Turnout at the Tin Cup Gun Show this weekend wasn't affected by a law that will soon require anyone buying a firearm at a gun show to pass a background check, organizers said. Even so, some firearms dealers at the show expect their sales to suffer temporarily when the law goes into effect on March 31. |

I keep hearing how anti-gun Chicago is and how restrictive their gun laws are. Once again this proves that passing more anti-guns laws doesn't make any difference if someone wants to break the law and misuse a gun. |

A gunman opened fire in a factory outside Chicago Monday, killing one employee and wounding as many as seven others, officials said.
--Hmm, funny, I could have sworn Chicago had some mighty tough gun laws. In fact I thought Chicago banned handguns...I could be wrong, but I thought they did. I wonder why the gun laws didn't stop this guy?
Oh wait, maybe it's because he's CRAZY and laws don't stop crazy people from doing crazy things!!! |

"Cease Fire Washington" has been meeting with legislators and members of Washington's "gun lobby" in hopes of passing a bill which will attack gun show participants.
Although the bill has yet to be introduced, sources close to Cease Fire have indicated that some representatives of "gun groups" might be willing to go along with the legislation.
In 1999, similar legislation was killed in Oregon because of an outpouring of grass roots action. |
