... "While it's true that Edwards hasn't been convicted of anything, his gun-grabbing Democrat pals are trying to not let that stop them--in fact, Frank Lautenberg is at it again, proposing that people merely suspected by the government be barred from buying guns via a 'terror watch list.'" ...

... "Just putting this on their 'Hate Watch' page accomplishes their agenda--to put a stigma on good and decent Americans by equating them with racists, Klansmen, Nazis, terrorists...and this isn't the first time we've seen them resort to such smears and innuendo." ...

... "Forget the accusation that citizens intent on claiming their rights are trying to be 'superheroes'--that's just childish noise coming from people who have no other argument, and so rely on the tried and true Brady practice of insulting the character of those they hate as they desperately try to gin up fear." ...

"It's been awhile since I have written an installment of my Effective Activist Politics series, but this is one of the most important topics for activists and activist organizations to pay attention to so I'm adding it to the series. If you'd like to read or re-read the other articles in the series they are available at www.FirearmsCoalition.org and also at www.GunVoter.org."

"The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) recently published a warning about a UN-sponsored Arms Trade Treaty Resolution that poses a distinct threat to the private ownership of weapons. ... "

"The NAGR report stated that our nation has joined with 152 others at the UN as a supporter of the treaty resolution that calls for establishing a timetable in 2012 when a UN conference will iron out details about the planned comprehensive treaty. The group quotes former U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton who cautions America's gun owners that the UN 'is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nations, but there's no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.'" ...

"We had no idea: states across the land are assembling their legislatures and passing these resolutions asserting their sovereignty. It’s all part of this push, it seems, to remind whomever — citizens, the federal government — that the 9th and 10th amendments to the Constitution imbue the states with certain rights."

"The number of states deciding that these resolutions are worth doing are growing. South Carolina passed one this week. A Kansas resolution affirming the state’s 10th amendment rights was on Thursday sent to the state Senate for a full vote. Late last month, the Alabama legislature sent up a resolution essentially reaffirming the 10th amendment ..." ...

"A Washington, D.C. solo practitioner with extensive experience before the Supreme Court will argue in defense of the city of Chicago's strict handgun ordinance in a closely watched Second Amendment case next month."

"At issue in the case is whether the individual right to bear arms, as articulated in the D.C. v. Heller decision of 2008, applies against local restrictions on firearms. ..." ...

"This week's furor over the treatment of a 9-year-old Staten Island, NY student who got in trouble for having a tiny LEGO figure with a rubber gun can be ultimately credited to the same hysteria that prompted the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence into declaring war on Starbucks."

... "We need a clear and objective method for dealing with concealed carry weapons permitting. A method that doesn't vary among the counties and municipalities. One that is responsible, reasonable and fair. One that declares the requirements clearly and unambiguously. AB 357 would have been a good start."

"I'm talking about carrying concealed weapons in public, which is very different from citizens having guns in their homes. A person in possession of a loaded firearm in public bears a terrible responsibility, which demands that we take gun rights to the next level." ...
