Looking for the best 22 WMR ammo for your varmint-slaying rifles or self-defense handguns? Well, you’ve found the right article.
The 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (22 WMR) or “22 Mag” offers shooters and hunters increased power and more range than the 22 Long Rifle (22LR) could ever hope to achieve. This makes the 22 WMR incredibly popular for pest control while still being cheap enough for plinking and general target shooting. |

The Hornady V-MAX line of ammunition was created for varmint control, as the bullet has a thin jacket and was designed to fragment on impact with a target, even at low velocities. For many years, your standard varmint ammo was pretty much whatever you had on hand, and this produced mixed results depending on what you were shooting. The V-MAX has a lot of features to make sure any critter is humanely dispatched immediately and is extremely accurate. |

West Virginia University’s (WVU) student government recently passed a proclamation in opposition to the state legislature's Campus Self-Defense Act. The Act, Senate Bill 10, would amend previous legislation in order to eliminate the "authority of the Higher Education Policy Commission, the Council for Community and Technical College Education, and the institutional boards of governors to restrict or regulate the carrying of concealed pistols or revolvers in certain circumstances or areas of an institution of higher education."

Taped inside my violin case — a pastime I abandoned in my 20s, perhaps as an act of mercy towards others — is a photocopied portrait of a violinist with the caption, “Paganini begins where our reason ends.” Written by composer Giacomo Meyerbeer, the description is apt: Niccolo Paganini, famed violin virtuoso of the 18th and early 19th centuries, was gifted with such technical prowess that even today the staccato, lightning-fast 24 Caprices he composed both stun and terrify. There is little beauty to the music — it is simply a tour de force of skill without appeal to our innate sense of beauty.

A majority of Americans oppose adopting a national sales ban on “assault weapons,” according to a recent poll. Of 1,003 adults, 51% said they opposed a ban, a 10-point increase from 2019, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll released Monday. Support for an assault weapons ban steadily declined from 2019, to 47% in 2023, as the public is undecided on whether or not making it harder to get guns would reduce mass shootings, according to the poll.

A proposal to ban AR-15-style rifles in New Mexico began moving through the Roundhouse on Tuesday as Democratic legislators pursue aggressive new gun-control measures intended to address mass shootings and other crime. On a series of party-line votes, members of a House committee advanced legislation to establish a two-week waiting period for firearm purchases and prohibit the sale and possession of certain semiautomatic rifles and handguns.

When selecting a semi-automatic handgun for self-defense, for many the only choice is the M1911—and for good reason. Few firearms are as proven in life-and-death confrontations. Also, the M1911 has excellent ergonomics, fire-control placement and, in most examples, a quality single-action trigger to boot. Moreover, the M1911 is available in myriad configurations and has the ability to be easily customized, which facilitates a perfect fit for nigh all shooters. Despite its many attributes, though, the M1911 doesn’t appeal to everyone. Beyond its dimensions (and weight), the key detraction is its capacity, which is typically limited by a single-stack magazine.

Many NRA Women appreciate receiving roses as a symbol of love from their spouse or significant other on Valentine’s Day. But cut flowers in a vase water don’t last long, and roses are pricey, averaging about $100 a dozen these days. Once the petals start to drop, they're just a memory. For long-lasting beauty and enjoyment, why not instead consider a gun—adorned with roses?

A Feb. 3 decision in an Oklahoma federal court affirms that the Second Amendment right to possess firearms may not broadly be restricted. Even those of us who strongly support laws against marijuana use should recognize that mere marijuana possession and small-batch use should not negate a fundamental constitutional right to own (not use) a gun that is in no way connected to the alleged cannabis infraction.

Two Republican-led bills in the Colorado House that attempted to skirt enforcement of federal laws and expand firearm rights were defeated in committee on Monday. “Across the country, sheriffs, prosecutors, and police chiefs have raised concerns that this type of legislation will make it harder for them to protect their communities,” Democratic Rep. Andrew Boesenecker of Fort Collins said in a statement.. “As a responsible gun owner, I know there’s more we can do to prevent gun violence, and House Democrats are committed to this goal. That’s why we took decisive action today.” |

A fake Second Amendment advocacy group is attacking pro-2A lawmakers, including A+ rated and endorsed Speaker Todd Gilbert. This desperate group has released multiple smear campaigns against pro-2A lawmakers while asking for donations. With no lobbying presence in Richmond or at the grassroots level, these groups instead focus on attacking pro-2A legislators, such as Speaker Gilbert, rather than fighting to restore Second Amendment freedoms in Virginia. |

California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom might be pining for a bid at the country’s highest political office but he needs a refresher on Civics 101. Specifically, he should get a refresh of how the courts decide the constitutionality of law. His message to law-abiding Californians and the judge whose recent rulings struck down his previous gun control laws was clear: Shove it. |
