... "Q: What about buying firearms?"

"That's an open question. Homeland Security last month refused to rule out requiring Real ID for firearm purchases in the future."

"When asked about requiring Real ID to buy a firearm, Homeland Security replied: 'DHS will continue to consider additional ways in which a Real ID license can or should be used and will implement any changes to the definition of 'official purpose' or determinations regarding additional uses for Real ID consistent with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. DHS does not agree that it must seek the approval of Congress as a prerequisite to changing the definition in the future.'"

"A story in Capitol Weekly, which covers California politics, speculates about the fallout from a Supreme Court decision in D.C. v. Heller overturning the District of Columbia's gun ban. Oral arguments in the case are scheduled for next month, with a ruling expected by the end of June. Sam Paredes, executive director of Gun Owners of California, is excited:"

"Any definition of the Second Amendment as an individual right is going to open up all kinds of legal avenues for us to overturn gun laws. We will change our focus from lobbying to legal action because the Legislature will be neutered. Any time they sponsor legislation we think is unconstitutional, we will challenge it." ...

"The American Hunters and Shooters Association (ASHA) today filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court of the United States in support of last year's historic ruling by the US Court of Appeals For The District of Columbia in Heller v. The District of Columbia. Joining in that brief are 11 senior and former military leaders. ASHA believes that the case should be affirmed. Our brief is unique in two respects: first, it argues that the individual right to bear arms is essential to the collective interest in a 'well regulated militia.' Second, it contends that the DC Gun Law is not authorized under the DC Home Rule Act, and thereby gives the Court a non-Constitutional basis to affirm the decision below." ...

"The police can never be everywhere at once, and simple logic dictates that the one best able to resist criminal attack is the one being attacked. The victim will always be present at the time of the crime; the police will almost never be present, serving instead to respond to the crime after it has happened. The most fundamental rights enshrined in our legal tradition were summarized as the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those same rights are meaningless under a framework where random criminal attack is not only expected but accepted without recourse."

If the Second Amendment is interpreted as Petitioners and their supporting amici prefer and the District’s laws upheld, the individual right to keep and bear arms—identified by the Framers, in the very text of the Constitution, as integral 'to the security of a free State'—will not only be infringed, but effectively abolished. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said a special agent returning to Mitchell International Airport at Milwaukee left her firearm in a bathroom there Tuesday night."

A handgun found unattended inside a TSA Secure Zone at an International Airport one might even consider that a crime. If it were a crime, then according to the "ATF Evidence Collection Handbook", the firearm should be sent to ATF Firearms Technology Branch [FTB] for proper classification.

Why is this relevant? There are only (2) female special agents at the Milwaukee ATF Field Office, [according to my sources, not yet confirmed]. I am told both female agents were involved in US v. Olofson.
