Some companies are known for their iconic designs, and this is especially true of Steyr and the AUG. While most AUGs turn heads thanks to the unique bullpup design, the rare 9mm conversion to the AUG is something you simply can’t miss. Luckily, this Steyr AUG A3 M1 with a 9mm conversion kit installed popped up at the Guns.com warehouse, and I got to take it to the range. |

In 1873, the U.S. Army adopted the .45-70 as it’s standard service round.
Like all standard Army cartridges it quickly became a popular civilian caliber. Equally effective on men and big game, it soon proved worthy of its popularity and every type of commercial rifle action that could accommodate it was soon chambered for it. It’s power and accuracy combined with low felt recoil made it an excellent all round cartridge able to handle anything North America could dish out. |

Nickel-plated lead shot is different from your typical lead shot in that the coating allows the shot to leave your barrel a bit smoother, gives more penetration, and can lead to easier kills when hunting pheasants and waterfowl. While this shot is more expensive than your average lead, there are definitely some benefits that make it worth the price.

The Hornady V-MAX line of ammunition was created for varmint control, as the bullet has a thin jacket and was designed to fragment on impact with a target, even at low velocities. For many years, your standard varmint ammo was pretty much whatever you had on hand, and this produced mixed results depending on what you were shooting. |

An updated report from the Pew Research Center once again affirms what the firearms community has known for many years: of all homicides involving firearms, only 4 percent involved rifles of any kind—including “guns sometimes referred to as ‘assault weapons’—which tends to refute arguments such guns should be banned. |

California isn't a particularly friendly state for gun owners, but it's not as bad as it could be. For example, it's actually a Castle Doctrine state. There is no duty to retreat from a criminal who you reasonably believe intends to kill you even outside the home, either. Those are laws you typically see in pro-gun states. |

The U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance, under the leadership of Chairman Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), held a committee hearing focused on the right of law-abiding Americans to protect themselves.
It’s a critical moment for Second Amendment rights as President Donald Trump campaigned on restoring community safety and vowing to protect the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans. That priority resonated with voters, including more than 26.2 million law-abiding Americans persuaded by crime and threats of violence in their communities to purchase a firearm for the first time over the past five years. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all — security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again. — EDWARD GIBBON [On ancient Athens] |
