Guthrie Oklahoma Police Chief Jim Bishop wants to survey Guthrie's youth to determine risk factors for juvenile delinquency. He presented his survey to the Guthrie Public Schools Board of Education, asking that the survey be administered to students in the 6th through 11th grades, and that permission slips be sent home so that parents who did not want their children taking the survey could return them. |

A 10-year-old boy did what he had been taught was the right thing - he told on another kid who he had overheard threaten to bring a gun to school and shoot someone, which resulted in that student being suspended. But the next day, the suspended boy's friend promised revenge. Now, given the chance to do it all over, the boy told his mother that he'd keep his mouth shut. |

People all over the country said there would be shootings in the street & violence in homes," he said. Of course, that wasn’t the case. In fact, it caused the crime rate in the city to plunge.
