A senior officer with North Wales Police has said that patrol officers in the UK should be routinely armed... "it would be in the interests of the safety of officers, especially in certain areas of major cities."
KABA Note: But of course the mere subjects of the state don't deserve to have any such safety... |

Undercover drug agents put the public at risk when they tried to arrest a suspect on the parking lot of a Jack in the Box restaurant in Berkeley almost two years ago, a citizens committee appointed by the St. Louis County Council concluded Thursday.
Instead of making an arrest, the drug agents fired 21 shots and killed the suspect and a friend seated in a car with him. The agents said they feared the suspect was trying to run over them in an attempt to escape. |

Some day soon, Americans are going to recognize the U.S. government's war on drugs has been a total, unequivocal disaster.
Like most government initiatives, the war on drugs has only exacerbated our problems – increasing crime, infringing civil rights, soaking taxpayers and just generally making a bigger mess of things.
Let's hope it's sooner rather than later. |

"A 16-year-old boy fatally shot himself while playing with a semi-automatic gun ... 'It just looks like he was messing around with the gun and it went off' ... A single bullet fired from the weapon..."
KABA Note: The "gun went off". Riiiight. There was a time was when most 16-year-old boys knew better -- back in the days when they were encouraged to make firearms a routine part of their lives. This is what happens when society encourages ignorance instead. |

"Our" government is spending $billions of *our* money to protect themselves from ... us. The featured photograph is BATF's new fortress, scheduled for completion in 2005. Toward the end of the article, it is pointed out that BATF wants to keep *pedestrians* 100 feet away.
Isn't that cute? Our "rulers" are building themselves castles. |

One of the proposed amendments would do away with two sections dealing with the militia ... because "our State Constitution... is too long and too outdated." A very unconvincing reason to eliminate something that has caused no problems, and is part of the system of checks and balances the founders built into our system.
Please call your Senator's office as soon as possible to vote NO on H.B.50. (Phone numbers listed at link!) |

"Israel's government officials have once again demonstrated a better grip on reality than have those in the United States when it comes to self-defense... the government is giving away guns to teachers.
When will it occur to American officials and teachers that declaring schools to be Gun Free Zones is the same as sending an engraved invitation to an Al Qaeda terrorist(s) to come on over and shoot up some schools?" - Larry Pratt, GOA |

"May 20, 2002, a new nation will be born, conceived in the blood of patriots, and guided to independence by the indifferent midwifery of the U.N. The new nation is East Timor, and its story of independence has much in common with America's own struggle — with one ominous difference."
The U.N. equates 'licit' with 'government', and 'illicit' with 'anti-government'... The guns used by the Indonesian military to kill 200,000 East Timorese civilians were almost all 'legal'. |

Under a motion passed Monday by the Metropolitan King County Council, rifles and shotguns will be sold to buy gun lockboxes for sheriff's deputies to keep their weapons safe at home. The weapons will be sold as a lot, not individually, to dealers who can supply the lockboxes." |

The families of 2 students killed in the March 5, 2001 shooting at Santana High School in Santee, CA, are suing the High School District for negligence and wrongful death. The lawsuit is not seeking money, but rather "a change in the way school districts screen and handle students with psychological problems."
Superintendent Granger Ward said the shooting was a criminal act. "It is unfortunate that the perpetrator of this crime is not the focus." |

"NYPD's strict enforcement of misdemeanor laws was the main reason for significant declines in the city's violent-crime rate during the 1990s," the NCJA Justice Bulletin reported.
The philosophy behind "broken-windows" policing is that crime is more likely to worsen in neighborhoods where toleration of petty crimes, such as breaking windows and graffiti, indicate a lack of social control. |

There is now a $5000 federal price tag on Puckett's head. York of the BATF said Puckett managed to slip out of an electronic monitoring bracelet and flee from his home. "We consider him armed and dangerous."
What York didn't say is that Puckett's firearms are in the possession of the BATF -- although the 1968 federal gun-control act prohibiting felons from owning guns does not apply because he was convicted 2 years before the law's enactment. |

Vice-President Hubert Humphrey said, “The right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against the tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.”
For now, respectfully fold your stars and stripes and look forward to the time when you can again display it. In the words of Patrick Henry, “I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.” |
