"The inestimable Father Richard John Neuhaus writes about me in the latest issue of his wonderful magazine, First Things. He says, "Goldberg is among the most artful ramblers in the business…." He means it as a compliment and I take it as one. And in recognition of this praise, I will bury the topic sentence of this column somewhere low. I haven't decided where yet." |

Flathead County Sheriff Jim Dupont said. "It all certainly supports the theory that there was going to be big trouble. The last I heard, it didn't take 30,000 rounds of ammo to kill a turkey."
The sheriff said his information came from "the very reliable informant."

"Though I would have liked yesterday's statement to be the final word on the matter, I have no choice but to address the number of negative responses both to Dell's public statement and our follow up. Each tirade from Real America came with a link, alleging a tie between Dell and Handgun Control, Inc. (HCI) and "proving" the Dell Corp's "true beliefs" behind the Second Amendment.
I must personally and regretfully admit that once we investigated the matter, I was truly embarrassed... for the hundreds who, in their fury, sent a URL that simply showed that HCI receives a commission for selling Dell computers." |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
To trust arms in the hands of the people at large has, in Europe, been believed...to be an experiment fraught only with danger. Here by a long trial it has been proved to be perfectly harmless...If the government be equitable; if it be reasonable in its exactions; if proper attention be paid to the education of children in knowledge and religion, few men will be disposed to use arms, unless for their amusement, and for the defence of themselves and their country. — Timothy Dwight, Travels in New England and New York [London 1823] |
