Forty-one years ago, the Swiss armed forces adopted a new service pistol to replace their aging—and costly to make—P210s. The new gun grew from a cooperative effort of the Swiss SIG plant and a German maker named J.P. Sauer & Sohn. Initially, their P75s (named for their year of introduction) had no market other than military service. But the overall worth of the design had great potential for chambering in other cartridges. |

As a result, the Croyden Avenue facility of Kalamazoo RESA was placed on lockdown during each of the last two Thursday mornings while that man visited.
He is the father of a program participant.
Police were called to Kalamazoo RESA's West Campus at 4606 Croyden Ave., doors were locked, mobility was limited and other precautions were taken "to ensure the safety of all children, families and staff," Margaret McGlinchey, assistant superintendent ....
But Campbell said the law allows a person with a valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) to openly carry that weapon in a school. The man carried a handgun in a holster on his side. |

Liquor, automatic weapons and exploding targets would be forbidden at Department of Natural Resources shooting ranges under a new package of regulations that has gun lovers raising their eyebrows.
The DNR owns eight formal ranges around Wisconsin and operates about half of them; local clubs operate the others in partnership with the agency. No uniform rules apply, though the agency has been working since 2013 to develop some, said Keith Warnke, the DNR's shooting sports coordinator.

Saturday’s protest theatrics in Arizona, where opponents of GOP front runner Donald Trump blocked a highway, pale in comparison to the drama that unfolded a week ago at a convenience store in Boulevard Park near Burien in which an armed customer fatally shot a man in a deadly, unprovoked confrontation, and yesterday that man spoke exclusively with Examiner.
It was a "four-cigarette interview," done with no small amount of reflection and introspection. At 60 years of age, no matter what life’s experiences, there is much to be introspective about, a fact not lost on this particular armed citizen. The incident received national and international attention.

Gun crimes have been on the rise for the past few years in Cedar Rapids, and Linn County prosecutors are making those crimes a top priority in an effort to get more weapons off the street.
In the past, most of the gun cases have been turned over to federal authorities because there are typically stiffer penalties to face in federal court. But some of the lesser gun crimes haven’t been pursued because of the differences in state and federal laws. |

The Heller decision, confirming that the Second Amendment acknowledges an individual right to keep and bear arms, written by the late Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia was in many respects the Roberts court’s finest hour.
In its acknowledgment that rights are inherent, not granted by government Heller is constitutional originalism at its finest and Scalia at his incisive and eloquent best. |
