... "Anticipating people might not want to turn themselves into a police force that fully half the citizenry sees as corrupt and violent -- and with good reason – the government is now worried that, rather than identify themselves and surrender to officials they fear, and not wanting to be caught and imprisoned for violating disarmament edicts, some may opt to just throw ordnance away. To that end, those in charge have put out an appeal asking that hand grenades not be disposed of in the trash, a potentiality that if it does happen, will be purely of the government’s making." ... |

"I keep exploring the Mech Tech Carbine Conversion Unit ... a cleverly-designed 'upper' that you snap your GLOCK pistol 'lower' into, converting your wundergun into a 16″-barrel carbine rifle. This particular unit converts the GLOCK into a 10mm rifle. I previously evaluated the Mech Tech with some hollowpoint ammunition for its suitability and performance as a self-defense weapon. It was impressive, sure, but I couldn’t help but think that that was the wrong path to go trundling down. Sure, it could be used for that purpose, but the bullets were overdriven so fast that they were ripped apart when the hit the gel. And that got me thinking — what would this unit be like, using some big heavy solid hardcast bullets? . . ." ... |

"'The power of the gun lobby over statehouse politicians has led to a raft of laws dear to gun rights adherents, from a measure allowing concealed firearms on college campuses to one legalizing the open carrying of holstered pistols for those who like to swagger into restaurants and coffee bars,' Francis X. Clines opines at nytimes.com. 'The growing question of whether the lobby had nullified all serious political resistance was answered Friday when West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, usually a reliable supporter of the [NRA], vetoed a bill to scrap the current law that citizens have to get a permit and take gun safety lessons in order to legally carry a concealed weapon in the state.' "We’ve noted for a while now how nasty the forces of civilian disarmament have become in recent years. Since their failure to significantly move the anti-gun needle after Newtown — an opportunity they saw as a sure thing for rolling back Second Amendment rights — the gun-grabbing community seems to have ratcheted up (or down, really) the venom and vulgarity. One of our readers, Ozallos, posited the following theory under our post, ‘Why Are Anti-Gunners So Vile? – ConcealedNation.org Reads Their Hate Mail’ . . ." ... |
