They have become a staple on the American gun market — “handguns” built de novo upon an AR chassis introduced the American gun nerd to an entirely new genre of firearm. Combining rifle-grade power with handgun-sized portability, these testosterone-laden pistols are either the best or worst of both worlds.

KING5 in Seattle reported on a pot shop that’s hired armed security following a pair of armed robberies in recent months. They must have found the only pot shop in America that didn’t already have a guard with a gun. Then again, many pot shops in Washington State advertise themselves as “no guns” locations for customers. They also (obviously) have recreational pharmaceuticals and, thanks to banking regulations, deal exclusively in cash, making them ideal targets for violent criminals.

It seems obvious: Terrorists shouldn’t have guns. But when concerned parents are branded as terrorists or extremists for speaking out at their local school board meetings, that idea falls apart. The Biden Administration’s Department of Justice recently provided a case study of why Second Amendment supporters have to be cautious about reflexively jumping on the bandwagon when anti-gun politicians talk about “keeping guns out of the wrong hands.” |

Also known as the .22 Savage High Power and the .22 Imp, the 5.6x52mmR was developed by Charles Newton in 1912. Savage Arms produced the cartridge and chambered their popular Model 99 lever action rifle for it. The cartridge that Newton designed was accurate, and was based on the .25-35 Winchester case, but capped with a 0.227 caliber bullet. It was initially popular among hunters around the world for its accuracy, and soon hunters were using it to harvest game animals of all kinds – including deer and safari animals like tigers. |

One more state has been added to the expanding roll of “constitutional carry” states where a permit or license to carry is no longer necessary in order for law-abiding citizens to be armed in public.
Indiana has joined the ranks as the 24th permitless carry jurisdiction, coming in only several days after governors in Alabama and neighboring Ohio inked bills opening their states to what is generically called “constitutional carry.” |

Sig Sauer’s high-capacity, micro-compact P365 took the gun world – particularly the concealed carry community – by storm when it launched in January 2018. It had many competitors playing catch-up and, you could argue, birthed the rise of the double-stack micro 9mms that are now offered by nearly every major firearms manufacturer. |

As part of an “Open for Business” package, South Dakota's Republican Gov. Kristi Noem on Tuesday signed a bill zeroing out fees for concealed carry permits in the state. The measure signed by Noem, SB 212, was popular with lawmakers, having been passed earlier this session by the state Senate 34-1 and the state House 61-8. It drops the fees for the state's three different tiers of carry permits to zero while keeping the program intact. |
