Schools nationwide are arming themselves to protect against their own. Parents and students who once would have winced at the notion are now willing --even eager-- to welcome well-armed officers on campus. "We need cops everywhere," said Eleanore Cobble, a 10th-grader at Granite Hills. "I don't feel safe anymore."
~~Of course not. Your parents and teachers aren't prepared or able to defend you. So now you need armed police bodyguards at the taxpayers' expense. |

...Some frightened parents are demanding tighter security while others are seeking alternative ways to educate their children. "Brick-and-mortar schools will cease to exist if this continues," said Mike Cook, who is considering home-schooling his 15-year-old daughter, rather than allowing her to return to Granite Hills High School. "If we can't stop it, home-schooling will start and Internet education will take over," he said.

"The important issue, Americans constantly ignore to our detriment, is whether Congress has exceeded its constitutional authority by mandating a particular blood/alcohol level. Congress has no such authority; setting blood/alcohol levels is a state and local function." |
