State and local prosecutors will appeal a Louisville judge's ruling last week that a convicted felon can't be prosecuted on a firearms charge because it violates his Second Amendment rights. Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Melissa Logan Bellows ruled March 13 that it is unconstitutional for prosecutors to move forward with their case against Jecory Lamont Frazier under a state law prohibiting felons from owning a gun because it doesn't outweigh the Second Amendment right that belongs to "all Americans." |

A John Wick-level handgun without the John Wick-level price, the new Canik TTI Combat collaboration with Taran Tactical is about as sweet as it gets for the money. While walking the aisles at the recent IWA Outdoor Classic Show in Germany, Guns.com ran into Taran Butler himself and got the background on his Canik collab. Built on a completely new polymer frame designed by Butler, the TTI Combat runs aggressive grip texturing, an integrated flared magwell, a removable aluminum competition magwell, a ported and spiral-fluted barrel, the first compensator seen on a Canik, a diamond cut/flat-faced 90-degree break trigger, fully adjustable sights with a Trijicon SRO cut, and a ton of other standard features – all for an MSRP of $949. |

We generally don’t expect to see the Washington Post say anything positive about firearms or law-abiding gun owners, although there are occasional Op-Eds from pro-Second Amendment lawmakers, unbiased researchers and Constitutional scholars, and the like. A March 4 Opinion piece from a former Post staff writer is one of those rare exceptions.

When shooters hear the words “guide gun, big game, and lever action rifles” used in the same sentence, most will immediately think of the 45-70 Government. And for good reason too, as the 45-70 was one of the cartridges that won the West and can take down virtually any North American game animal.
