First story- Someone breaks the back window of your house. You see a stranger standing in the back of your home and he has a knife.
Second story- You are running away from an abusive boyfriend. You go home to grab some clothes. That is when your boyfriend appears and orders you inside.
Third story- You’re at work in your barbershop when you hear gunshots from the small grocery store next door. You look outside. A man runs out of the grocery and shoots the store owner.

GREAT MILLS, Md. (AP) — The student who fatally shot a female classmate last week at a Maryland high school died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a confrontation with a school resource officer who also fired his gun, authorities said Monday.

The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that 17-year-old Austin Rollins fired a fatal shot to his head just as he encountered sheriff's deputy Blaine Gaskill. The shot fired by Gaskill struck the gun in Rollins' hand, the sheriff's office added.

Submitter's note: We may have had the same result if that coward cop in Parkland Florida hadn't turned turtle.

One consequence of the success of the National Rifle Association's expansive gun-rights agenda — and its lobbying power in Congress — is that groups favoring more gun control have pared down their ambitions in recent years. The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, for instance, no longer talks about banning handguns. Advocates have moved away from the term “gun control” in favor of more specific language like “gun violence” and “gun safety.” Democratic leaders in Congress have grown timid about proposing significant new restrictions on gun ownership.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is facing down his Second Amendment critics who say the Republican is a do-nothing legislator on gun violence, stating Monday his legislative position provides him with a platform that others aren’t afforded. “I’m a U.S. senator; I can defend myself. But a lot of people can’t, and the message to them is: If you don’t agree, you need to be quiet or go away or we’ll turn on you too,” Rubio said.

A dozen state lawmakers have signed a letter urging Gov. Gina Raimondo to make “gun violence in schools” the top priority of the study group she pledged to create, after the Valentine’s Day massacre by a deranged shooter at a Florida high school left 17 people dead. The 12 House Democrats pegged their request to Raimondo’s promise, in an executive order she signed last month, to create a “working group to study gun violence reduction strategies.”

Retired U.S. Supreme Justice John Paul Stevens has inserted himself into the gun rights battle now being waged across the media and is counseling high school demonstrators to “demand a repeal of the Second Amendment” in an Op-Ed piece published by the New York Times. So much for the argument that nobody is trying to take away your right to have a gun; this 97-year-old former jurist is doing exactly that with his suggestion.

Authorities announced a $10,000 reward Tuesday for information that could lead them to whoever was responsible for stealing 31 police guns from the old Compton City Hall building. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says the guns were probably stolen sometime between March 6 and August 31, 2017. The guns, which belonged to the Compton Police Department, were being stored in a vault at the old city hall building at 600 N. Alameda St. after the department was dismantled in 2000 and duties overtaken by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Democrats sure are banking on millennials to bring home the vote in November. Hence, the frenzy to control the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School survivors' March for Our Lives last Saturday, and afterwards to propagandize the size of the Washington, D.C. crowd -- turning 200,000 participants into more than 800,000. But, maybe millennials aren't the "voice of a generation on gun control," as the Miami Herald called them, and maybe they aren't going to "turn the tide of a long-simmering debate" as progressives desperately hope.

In the wake of the “March For Our Lives” rally Saturday, and with no legislative appetite for more gun control laws, Democrats in both the House and Senate have introduced a bill requiring background checks for purchasing bullets. “You do not have the right to bear bullets,” said Congresswoman and former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz at a press conference Monday announcing the introduction of a bill that would require instant background checks to purchase ammunition.

It’s not often that CNN media reporter Brian Stelter is honest about his blatant biases when it comes to politics, just take his assertions about the President’s mental fitness and his denials of making such connections. But during an appearance on the Monday edition of HLN’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered, the Reliable Sources host appeared to let it slip that he let radical anti-gun activist David Hogg get away with making false claims about the guns and the NRA during a February 25 interview on his show.

Two Southern California police officers are accused of purchasing so-called off-roster firearms that are not available to the general public and illegally reselling the weapons, federal prosecutors said Monday. A federal grand jury indictment alleges Gardena Police Department officers Carlos Miguel Fernandez, 42, and Edward Yasushiro Arao, 47, conspired with each other and engaged in dealing firearms without a license, the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney's Office announced.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
...but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights... — Alexander Hamilton speaking of standing armies in Federalist No. 29.
