Handgun cartridge naming is an aspect of firearm ownership that can be confusing to new shooters at first – and if you decide to get yourself a full-size Sig Sauer 1911 or Glock 21, you might note on the barrel that it says, “45 Auto.” Excited to get some ammo for your new sidearm, you peruse the gun store shelves and are dismayed to only find boxes labeled, “45 ACP.” |

A national gun rights organization is demanding a federal investigation into possible gun law violations by NBC News and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office during the production of a “hidden camera” story about so-called “ghost guns” that aired March 17.
The Second Amendment Foundation has called for the investigation after AmmoLand News reporter John Crump wrote about the NBC story Friday. |

Imagine if you only read The Washington Post and only watched MSNBC and like-minded media outlets. If you did that, you might be deceived into thinking America is a regular Wild West Show of daily mass shootings. You might think guns themselves are evil and that crime is the fault of people who legally own firearms. You might even believe that an American citizen could simply go online and buy a machine gun, as former President Barack Obama (D) once told us. You might also think that suppressors are the tools of assassins, and that semi-automatic rifles with pistol grips are commonly used by criminals. Perhaps you’d even surmise that President Joe Biden (D) was making a good point when he suggested a ban on pistols chambered in 9 mm. |

This year, the Supreme Court of the United States will issue its ruling in the case of New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen. At stake in this case is a simple question: Does the Second Amendment guarantee all law-abiding Americans the right to carry concealed firearms outside the home for the purpose of self-defense? |

Rep. Darisha Parker, D-Philadelphia, recently introduced House Bill 2435 with several fellow Democrats as co-sponsors. The bill has been referred to the Judiciary Committee. The legislation faces an uphill fight to make it to the House floor.
State law currently requires licensed gun dealers to provide a locking device when selling handguns. That same requirement does not apply to long guns. |

We live in a time of plenty when it comes to customizing and accessorizing our firearms, and the GoGun Gas Pedal is a fine example of that. The performance we can squeeze out of our modern designs would flabbergast pistol shooters of decades past. Contemporary handgun designers approach their task with a completely different mindset about how a pistol is meant to be fired than those in the early 20th century. I don’t think John Browning envisioned IPSC or USPSA shooters blazing through ammunition as quickly as they can stuff magazines in their pistols. |

Sen. John Marty, (DFL) Roseville, told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS his proposed bill which would require gun owners to have a license would, in the long run, help save lives.
Under Marty’s proposed bill, anyone purchasing a gun at a commercial business, gun shows or through individual sales, would have to acquire a license which would require gun safety education and training similar to what people have to do when they obtain a driver’s license. |

A bill that would allow hunting on Sundays in wildlife management areas run by the state of South Carolina is getting a hearing on Tuesday. South Carolina is one of only a few states that restrict hunting on Sundays, a prohibition going back to blue laws at the founding of the United States that banned many activities on what early churchgoers considered a day a rest.

Beretta-owned Stoeger is upping its pistol game for 2022 with a new series of optics-ready handguns that are billed as "Every Day Tough," and the STR-9SC is one of the more interesting in the series.
Established in 1924 as an East Coast-based firearms importer, the Stoeger name was acquired by Beretta Holding of Italy in 2000 and is now listed as operating out of Accokeek, Maryland, where Beretta and Benelli USA's HQ is co-located. Stoeger has imported an incredible array of firearms over the last century but is probably best known when it comes to handguns while under the Beretta/Benelli flag, taking over the old Beretta 8000, aka the Cougar, which was made in Turkey until 2016. |

There have been countless disputes between gun owners since firearms were invented. One of the larger disputes in recent decades has been about bullpups. There seems to be a staunch hostility towards the diminutive stature of these firearms by a majority of gun owners.
I, myself, am a convert to the cult of bullpups, and a decade later my safe is full of them. I only bring this up because today’s subject is another bullpup, the Appeal chambered in .22 WMR from Tanfoglio. So, I wanted to preface my analysis with the disclaimer that my name is Jeff and I, too, am a bullpup fan. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
