The bill, proposed by Sen. Royce West (D-Dallas), would prohibit those convicted or accused of domestic violence from having a gun. The Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA), state kin to the NRA, promised to not fight the bill, but a rebel faction managed a surprise attack.

A special House panel handling gun legislation approved a proposal to toughen penalties against people who indiscriminately fire guns in the air. The 'Committee on Sportsmanship, Safety & Firearms', who overwhelmingly support gun rights, approved the measure despite the opposition of the National Rifle Association and the Conservation Federation of MO.

A woman who feared her husband was going to kill her and her 17-month-old son tossed the baby out a second-story window into a policeman's arms, then jumped herself. She grabbed the officers and said, "Help me! Help me! He's trying to kill me!"

The police did not know beforehand, according to the article.

Her and her son may have been killed had the police not been there at that moment, because she had no way of defending herself and her child.

The Del Norte Gun Club's attorney has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by adjacent property owners who seek its closure. However, attorney Duncan Scott said Tuesday he is in ongoing negotiations to resolve the lawsuit to the satisfaction of all parties and has placed the motion to dismiss it on hold. "If we proceed with litigation, it could be a decade before we have a resolution through the various courts of appeals," Scott said.

An AK-47 was delivered to a high school by UPS. The delivery was a mistake. The ATF now has the weapon. "IF" all works out, the gun dealer will more than "LIKELY" get it back.

IF and LIKELY? Why wouldn't he? He is a licensed dealer, and it wasn't his fault.

Sen. Torricelli (D-NJ) has introduced S.609, the "Gun Parts Trafficking Act". This proposal would regulate the sale of gun parts the same as if they were ready-to-shoot guns.

A Charlotte man who fatally shot the man who gunned down his mother and brother earlier this month will not face criminal charges, a Mecklenburg prosecutor said Tuesday.

Assistant District Attorney Marsha Goodenow said Jerry Niquontis Whitley, 21, acted in self-defense and was trying to protect his brother March5 when he shot 41-year-old Larry Michael Rice with an AK-47 assault-style rifle at a west Charlotte mobile home.

A fourth-grader at Bunnell Elementary School received a 10-day suspension for drawing a picture of himself shooting another pupil with a laser gun. Superintendent Robert Williams said, "We are looking to find some help for the child. We are looking at some counseling. We are not taking this lightly."
