Joe Biden didn’t mince words when it came to addressing his gun control plans during his first press conference, which many critics are now suggesting was choreographed.
He didn’t really offer any words at all, telling reporters, “It’s a matter of timing,” according to Fox News.
“As you all have observed,” he added, “successful presidents, better than me, have been successful in large part because they know how to time what they’re doing.” |

In 1936, Walther Arms collaborated with Gustav Genschow and Company (GECO) to produce the 9x18 Ultra on behalf of the Luftwaffe, the illegally formed aerial branch of the German military. By the time World War II broke out, the Luftwaffe had become the most powerful military force in Europe.
In light of the new military’s impending needs, the Germans had requested a round to replace the less powerful .380 ACP. The 9x18 Ultra was born, keeping the same rim dimensions and 100 grain weight. World War II interrupted the progress of the invention, and the cartridge was not officially adopted until Walther introduced the Walther PP Super (PP Super) in 1972. |

Monroe County is suing Iowa Firearms Coalition, an NRA state affiliate, along with one of its members, in retaliation for them asking the county to obey state law. Last year, the legislature passed House File 2502. Among other things, this NRA-backed law requires localities to provide measures, like screening and security guards, to keep its citizens safe in buildings where they choose to ban the lawful carry of firearms for self-defense. Rather than comply with the law, and either keep its disarmed citizens safe or let them defend themselves, Monroe County instead chose to file this ridiculous lawsuit against those willing to speak out on the issue. |

I have spent much of the last year reporting on Joe Biden’s aggressive plans for gun control. Yet one of his most consequential proposals doesn’t feature the headline-grabbing elements of a firearm ban or confiscation scheme (which, of course, Biden also supports). The proposal I’m speaking of is repeal of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). If Biden succeeds in this goal, the industry that supplies firearms and ammunition to U.S. consumers, law enforcement and our military would be subject to death by a thousand cuts. |

Sparks fly as a seized gun is destroyed with a torch by Nicaragua’s national police. This occurred at the inauguration ceremony for a new building constructed for the police’s weapon’s department in Managua in 2007. When Miguel Andres, who is now 30 years old, was a democracy-advocating university student living on the edge of Caracas, Venezuela, he opted to flee the encroaching regime of Hugo Chávez to what he believed would be a freer life in his father’s native country of Colombia.

Imagine that you get into a heated argument with your spouse, and the police are eventually called. You then engage with them non-confrontationally and willingly agree to submit to a psychiatric evaluation at a hospital. The doctors would determine that you’re not a danger to yourself or others; meaning, there would be no inpatient care. Yet when you return home, you find that the police had entered your residence and had seized your firearms without a warrant. |

Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration pressed the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold a warrantless gun confiscation this week when the nation’s top court heard oral arguments in Caniglia v. Strom. The case that started after Edward Caniglia, 68, got into an argument with his wife, Kim, in 2015 that ultimately ended up with the police seizing Caniglia’s firearms. After fighting, Kim went and stayed at a hotel and later contacted law enforcement, believing that her husband might hurt himself. Edward did not have a criminal record or any history of self-harm. |

Wyoming is on the cusp of a needed improvement of their Constitutional Carry law. In 2011, Wyoming was only the third state to restore Constitutional Carry. Constitutional Carry is a close approximation of the state of law that existed when the Second Amendment was ratified in the United States, in 1791. At that time, there were no permits required to carry weapons in most public spaces, either openly or concealed.

There’s nothing like spending time around people who can really run a handgun to keep one realistic about one’s own abilities. I may feel as though I’m a veritable ninja with a pistol around the normal, weekday crowd at the neighborhood indoor range, but setting foot on a range with someone like Ernest Langdon or Tim Herron will quickly recalibrate my shooting ego-meter. I’m pretty mediocre, in the grand scheme of things.

Earlier this year, this series covered the various types of legislation that get introduced. One measure we noted were the resolutions that stay in one house of Congress. These are usually meant to make a statement. One resolution we covered last year, though, is back, and it’s a statement Second Amendment supporters need to reject. |
