"Of the 71 unique news stories ...38 percent mention that an AK-47 or high-powered rifle was used by the attacker. As usual, gun control groups called for more gun control." ...
"Only two stories mentioned that the AK-47 was a semi-automatic, not a machine gun, and, while it is understandable, none of the articles provided context by explaining that Arroyo’s weapon functioned the same as deer hunting rifles, firing the same caliber bullets, at the same rapidity, and doing the same damage." ...
"Seems like pretty standard media coverage. But what makes this case different is that 21 percent of the news stories actually mentioned that a citizen licensed to carry a concealed weapon used his gun to try and help stop the attack." |

They have followed up the gut-wrenching historical documentary 'Innocents Betrayed' with another outstanding and infuriating video, 'BATFE Fails the Test.' "

"Enter the federal gun grabbers. Seven of his rifles are seized and Glover is charged with manufacturing and selling a machine gun. In other words, the federal government has decided Mr. Glover is a criminal, and it sets out to steal his property and destroy his life." |

"There's something in the works that could affect everyone who hunts in Minnesota."
"It's a background check of sorts that would be done 'after' you get your hunting license." ...
"Sen. Wes Skoglund of Minneapolis has introduced a bill that would take the names of the half million people licensed to hunt in Minnesota and run them through a computer to cross-check them with the state's list of felons. That would help police discover who may have firearms they're not supposed to have, 'There's murderers out there, there's rapists out there. They've gotten hunting licenses and we're trying to find out who they are,' said Skoglund." |

"The Virginia General Assembly rejected a bill requiring all gun show vendors to carry a federal firearms license and submit to a background check. The U.S. Department of Justice has been struggling with what they call the 'gun-show loophole' for years. Attendees can bring their own guns to a gun show, and not only profit from their sales, but not have to provide any background information to authorities."
------- The DOJ has been "struggling" with the gun show loophole? The Bureau of Justice Statistics shows that less than 2 percent of criminals get their guns at gun shows or flea markets. One would think that if this "loophole" was really such an easy way for criminals to obtain weapons, more of them would be taking advantage of it. |
