The .50 Action Express cartridge is, without a doubt, one of the world’s most powerful pistol cartridges. It features a .500-inch bullet diameter (33mm) in a 1.285-inch straight-walled case that has a rebated rim. The overall length of the standard .50 AE round measures 1.610 inches, and the ammo is powered with a large pistol primer. According to the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI), the maximum pressure of .50 AE ammo should not exceed 36,000 pounds per square inch (psi).

Ocala police are investigating a fight that led to a deadly shooting inside a bar Saturday night. Investigators said three men were shot, one of them died. That man has been identified as James Wallace, 56. Police are still investigating and say the case may be ruled as self-defense.

Ohio sheriffs last year issued the fewest number of new licenses to carry concealed handguns since 2011 as the number fell by 22% to 54,426. Also, 77,959 concealed-carry permits were renewed last year, a drop of 21% from the record 98,927 renewed in 2018. But the 2019 number still was the second-highest ever.

As the debate over tighter gun control regulations heats up in Minnesota, a movement among gun rights advocates to designate Second Amendment sanctuary counties is gaining momentum across the state. Five northwestern Minnesota county boards — Clearwater, Marshall, Red Lake, Roseau and Wadena — have voted to declare their county as a Second Amendment “sanctuary,” or otherwise dedicated to defending gun rights.

The Lacey Township Committee passed an ordinance Thursday reaffirming its support for the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Several New Jersey counties and towns have joined a growing movement in deeming themselves Second-Amendment "sanctuaries."

On Tuesday, February 25 the San Jose City Council removed Mayor Liccardo’s “Gun Harm Reduction” priority from the Priority Nomination List. Before announcing the removal of his priority the Mayor noted the meeting was filled with citizens who wanted to discuss this egregious issue. Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting, called and emailed their opposition to the City Council.

Four people were killed and 14 others were injured in Chicago shootings over the weekend. The most recent fatal shooting happened early Monday in Humboldt Park on the West Side. A 30-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk at 2:18 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Springfield Avenue when someone shot at him from a silver sedan, according to Chicago police. He was hit in the head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Many people remain fired up over Tennessee Governor Bill Lee's proposed permitless bill. The bill would allow those 21 and older to carry a gun with or without a permit. Walking through the doors of Classic Arms gun shop in Cordova, there is no doubt. They are clearly pro-Second Amendment. "I always have and always will be," said Greg Richardson, Classic Arms Store Manager.

A good Samaritan came to the rescue in Cape Coral, Fla., when a man aggressively followed three woman from a local bar into the streets. The man was acting strange towards the women inside the bar, and when they left the man stalked them. In distress the women yelled for help on the side of the road to a passing truck, which pulled over for them. The driver let the women climb in and the man began to walk up to the truck. When the man approached the truck, the driver warned that he was armed and to stay away. The man then went to his own truck and chased down the truck with the women inside.

Local leaders declared Lee County a “safe haven” and “sanctuary” for the Second Amendment on Monday, giving a signal that the county doesn’t plan to take any action that would restrict citizens’ rights to own a gun. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s new permit less carry law has gun experts on edge. His proposed legislation would allow citizens to carry a handgun without a permit. The bill would only apply to those who are 21 years or older and would not apply in restricted areas.

Scotts Bluff County takes a proactive approach to in case LB 58 is passed in the state’s legislature. During the meeting Tom Perkins, who is a former NRA member and still a gun owner spoke in favor of the proposed bill that is making its way through the state legislature floor. He believes that with the passage of measure it would protect and defend domestic violence victims.

A student who posted a Snapchat photo that shows her and a sibling holding semi-automatic firearms has sued the Cherry Creek School District, claiming a five-day suspension violated her First Amendment right to free speech. “Nothing about the image itself, or its caption, constitutes or promotes illegal activity,” says the complaint in the federal lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.

The Mecosta County Board of Commissioners (BOC) will be voting on a person's right to carry a personal firearm, as well as other constitutional rights at its next meeting Thursday. During last month's meeting, many residents came to voice their support of a "Second Amendment Sanctuary County" resolution, affirming a person's right to carry a firearm.
