If there’s a state that better exemplifies the phrase “elections matter” than Virginia, I don’t know which state it would be.
While Democrats maintain control of Virginia’s General Assembly, pro-gun efforts helped propel Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin into office in January 2022. Since then, he has been the primary barrier between commonwealth gun owners and numerous highly punitive gun ban schemes. |

The Triple-Shock X is Barnes Bullets' premium hunting rifle ammunition. Commonly referred to as Barnes X bullets, this line of ammo comes in most rifle calibers, and the bullet is quite unique in that it uses a fairly thin diameter hollow section in the tip compared to similar styles. The thin section works extremely well to create a uniform expansion effect when it impacts a target. |

The .357 Magnum has been around for nearly 90 years, and it’s still holding its own in a world full of polymer-framed pistols and high-capacity magazines. That alone says something. A lot of rounds have come and gone, but the .357 has stuck around because it flat-out works. Whether it’s for self-defense, hunting, or just putting holes in paper, this cartridge has proven itself over and over again. |

In a significant victory for Second Amendment advocates, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has allowed House Enrolled Act 0024 (House Bill 0172) to become law without his signature, paving the way for the repeal of many of the state’s restrictive gun-free zones. The new law, set to take effect on July 1, 2025, expands where law-abiding citizens with a valid concealed carry permit can legally carry their firearms — including in public schools, colleges, and government buildings. |

The Mexican government has taken an unprecedented step by pursuing a lawsuit against U.S. firearm manufacturers, including Smith & Wesson, claiming they are partly responsible for the violence caused by drug cartels in Mexico. This lawsuit, which seeks $10 billion in damages, could challenge the very foundation of the Second Amendment and the legal protections established by the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). |

A recent Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health report came out with several recommendations to reduce “gun violence.” The five-point plan, constructed by the school’s “Consortium for Risk-Based Firearm Policy,” promotes the idea that gun ownership would be better treated as a privilege and not as a right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution for all law-abiding citizens.

A year after Michigan lawmakers passed a safe storage law to prevent minors from coming in contact with unattended firearms, the measure has been used in 36 cases across the state, with charges having been filed against parents, grandparents, cousins, and, in one case, a babysitter. But an interesting pattern has emerged, an elephant in the room that everyone seems too uncomfortable to call out. Not today.
