Smith & Wesson has just introduced their single-action, hammer-fired small micro-compact with a double-stack magazine. This is the first in its class as there’s a lot of 1911 style pistols out there that are micro, but they are all single stack—and this is a ten plus one or up to 12 plus one magazine capacity. This is a tiny little option, especially for those who really like the hammer-fired with the frame safety. I’m a big fan of that as well, just because I love the 1911. There are some really cool innovative features on this pistol and there are a couple of things that I’m not really fond of. So, we’re going to take a look, take it down to the range, and then we’re going to do a full review. |

During the execution of a search warrant on March 13, 2020, 26-year-old emergency room technician Breonna Taylor was fatally shot and Louisville police Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly was shot and nearly killed.
The incident sparked an establishment media feeding frenzy marked by a combination of facts and hysteria, resulting in a public outcry marked by violence in the streets and a war on cops. |

The 38 Super and 45 ACP are two powerful centerfire handgun cartridges most commonly chambered in the 1911 pistol.
Although a somewhat obscure cartridge, the 38 Super is held in high regard in the competitive shooting community and was originally developed for law enforcement to defeat the rudimentary body armor and light sheet steel car doors of the 1930’s.

I’m no expert on firearms engineering or policy, just a concerned citizen who has spent my lifetime around knowledgeable and responsible gun owners. From this personal experience, one thing is clear to me: A considerable number of proponents of gun control seem to know very little about the firearms they seek to regulate and so often sound ignorant when discussing gun control.

State House leaders passed a ban on ghost guns Tuesday, two months after a prosecutor said a student used one to shoot and injure another student inside Magruder High School in Montgomery County. The measure was approved by a vote of 92-41 after the Senate passed the bill earlier this month. It now heads to the desk of Governor Larry Hogan. |
Handgun Carry Permits Transform a Right Into a Privilege

As of last week, 24 states have decided to let law-abiding adults carry handguns in public without a license. That policy, known as "constitutional carry," strikes critics as self-evidently reckless, while supporters think it improves public safety. Both sides in the long-running debate about the practical impact of reducing legal barriers to public handgun possession can cite studies to support their position. But beyond that empirical question is a moral and constitutional issue that may render it moot: If people have a fundamental right to armed self-defense, should they need the government's permission to exercise it? |

For many people, price is a key aspect to any handgun purchase, and guns—like everything else—get more expensive every year. How low can you go? I looked around to find handguns with price tags under $300. Now, if you look on manufacturers’ websites you may see that a couple of my choices exceed that mark—at least by the suggested retail price. However, having worked in retail, I know many stores discount handguns anywhere from 10 to 15 percent off this price. |

A special session of the Florida legislature ordered by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis this week could give lawmakers a shot at passing permitless concealed carry. Legislation removing the requirement that a license is needed to carry a concealed firearm was introduced in the state House this last session but died in committee without a vote. However, with DeSantis's executive order issued on Tuesday over redistricting lines, the upcoming special session could see concealed carry reform on the menu.

There are few documents in Washington more worthless than a presidential budget. Joe Biden’s budget, which was formally presented Monday, is no exception.
A presidential budget is merely a wish list – a starting point for the complex task of funding the government. They’re more of a statement of priorities than an actual budget, and Biden’s priorities are very clear. He wants to increase funding for the ATF by more than 13%, so the embattled agency can hire more special agents to target Biden’s fictional “rogue gun dealer” boogeymen, whom the White House blames for skyrocketing crime rates in large cities historically controlled by Democrats. |

The Guardian is reporting that “momentum toward permitless (carry) is unmistakable, as new laws give millions of Americans increasingly unfettered access to firearms even as gun violence rises across the country” in what may read as a lament about so-called “constitutional carry.”
The Tuesday report focuses on adoption by three more states—Alabama, Indiana and Ohio—of permitless carry, bringing the number of such states to 24, with perhaps one or two more on the brink. The story notes in its third paragraph that “the bills have been criticized by police and gun control advocates, who argue that removing permits poses a safety risk to citizens and law enforcement officers.” |

Today and Thursday, the Senate Appropriations Committee will hear House Bill 2166, to exempt firearms and firearm safety equipment from sales tax, and House Bill 2473, to discourage banks from discriminating against the firearm industry. Please use the Request to Speak application (RTS) on the Arizona State Legislature website, to ask committee members to SUPPORT House Bills 2166 and 2473. RTS is the most efficient and effective way to contact committee members regarding Second Amendment legislation. It is imperative that you create an account and continue utilizing this tool throughout the 2022 legislative session. |

The desire to carry firearms without permits is gaining traction. More states are starting to listen. Indiana is the most recent state to act. Gov. Eric Holcomb, a Republican, signed House Bill 1296 into law Monday, giving Hoosiers the right to carry without a permit. Alabama and Ohio recently passed similar bills, and Georgia ’s Legislature is closer to adopting such a measure, making it the 25th state to do so. |

Marion Hammer excoriated Simpson and 16 other Republicans when he helped pass a major gun control bill in Florida, in a knee-jerk response to the mass murder at Marjorie-Stoneman high school. |

Based on the famous Chick Gaylord “Comet” holster, the Ritchie brothers have modified their version with input from our own Tiger McKee. This is a cross-draw holster riding higher and tighter than the original. Our test rig is made to fit up to a 3″ S&W J-Frame and is absolutely perfect for anyone spending time chair-bound (including disabled shooters), driving or anytime a cross-draw carry makes sense. |

In the depths of the Great Depression, when money was so tight that a dime was considered a decent handout, Winchester introduced a bolt-action rifle that sold for $61.25. In today’s money, this is way over $1,000, and it meant that either the Big Red W had gone completely mad, or that it had come up with something extraordinary. |

When it comes to pistol-braced, PDW-style firearms, two of the undisputed names at the top are Maxim Defense, with its PDX, and Daniel Defense, with its DDM4 PDW. I’ve always loved these small PDW-style pistols and was lucky enough to get a couple of Certified Used selections out of the Guns.com Vault to review. We’re going to pair the two up and let them battle it out to let you decide which is best for you.
