Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says he would “welcome that debate” if ownership of so-called “assault weapons” were brought to the Senate floor, because he owns such a firearm and would use it to protect his home and neighborhood in the event of a natural disaster.

The .4” buckshot size doesn’t get as much use by shooters as it probably should. A very nice home-defense round, .4" buck is also a lot of fun to shoot on the range. Pumping a few rounds into various-sized targets is very satisfying with this ammo type because the power and penetration is just staggering.

The ink was barely dry on the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2008 District of Columbia v. Heller decision before lower courts began deliberately and systematically undercutting it. Judicial defiance has ranged from misreading the scope of the right enunciated by Heller to undermining decades of fundamental-right jurisprudence. For over a decade, attorneys sought only a fair-import application of Heller’s history-based analysis, but, with rare exceptions, instead faced massive resistance from judges who disfavor the Second Amendment.

Tennessee will soon be the 19th state where you can carry a firearm without a permit. Both houses of the state legislature passed the plan and Governor Bill Lee is expected to sign it into law. He said the move is, in his words, "core to our public safety agenda."

In the introduction of our review on the CZ-USA Bren 2 Ms, we highlighted the innovation propagated through the Czech firearms industry. Recently, a newer Czech subgun is gaining popularity in military, law enforcement and (when in semi-automatic form) civilian circles. Known as the "Scorpion," like the Bren, CZ-USA offers semi-automatic versions in pistol and rifle form.

Yamhill County commissioners recently voted to make the area a Second Amendment sanctuary. What that means is that going forward, the county will choose which gun measures it wants to enforce. The commissioner who introduced the ordinance explained it to The Story with Dan Haggerty this way: “What we did is, we drew a line and said, what we would consider common sense gun regulations, up to this point, so February of 2021, will be enforced per the sheriff's discretion,” Lindsay Berschauer said. “So, if he's not enforcing some of those already, that's fine. He has the discretion to do so, up until this point. But any new regulations going forward are going to be considered on a case by case basis.”

We are at a critical moment regarding guns. Democrat and Republican politicians’ unconstitutional push to ban AR-15s, the most popular rifle in the U.S., combined with proposed Extreme Risk Protection Orders and Red Flag legislation designed to confiscate firearms without providing law-abiding Americans their Constitutionally recognized due process, should offer more than enough evidence of infringement.

Many months before the 2020 election, the Biden campaign published its plan to “end our gun violence epidemic.” It was and remains a wish list of the gun prohibition lobby, complete with gun and magazine bans, registration and so-called “universal background checks.” There is a “safe storage” requirement (the constitutionality of which is questionable under the 2008 Heller ruling), and a one-gun-per-month purchase limit. It also bans the online sale of firearms, ammunition, kits and gun parts.

Washingtonians may be prohibited from openly carrying their firearms or other weapons at certain locations and events if Gov. Jay Inslee signs a bill into law during this year’s state legislative session. Senate Bill 5038, which passed in a 57-40 vote during a virtual state House floor debate Sunday, would prohibit people from openly carrying their firearms and other weapons at or near “permitted demonstrations” and other legislative locations, according to the bill’s text. The Senate passed the bill on Feb. 25 in a 28-20 vote.

While running for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2020, Joe Biden said, “My first day of office, I'm going to send a bill to Congress repealing the liability protections for gun manufacturers, closing the background check loophole, and closing waiting periods.” That did not happen. However, after more than 60 days into his term, a mass shooting occurred in Boulder, Colorado. Immediately, the left went into full-tilt gun control hysteria.

New Hampshire-based Sig Sauer on Monday announced the latest expansion of its Tread M400 series, the 5.56 NATO caliber Predator. As the name would imply, the lightweight semi-auto platform is intended for use by sportsmen involved in predator hunting. In line with that thinking, it has a Cerakote Elite Jungle finish, a precision-style adjustable stock, 16-inch stainless steel threaded barrel under a lightened free-float M-LOK handguard, ambi controls, and a hardened polished trigger.

The Volunteer State stands to become the 19th in the country to adopt permitless carry protections as Republican Gov. Bill Lee is considering a bill sent to him this week by Tennessee lawmakers. The state House on Monday approved SB 765 in a 64-29 vote, largely along party lines with a handful of Republicans jumping ship to vote against it. The bill recognizes the right of law-abiding adults in the state who are eligible to possess a handgun to carry one openly or concealed without a permit.
