"Gun rights advocates are driving a rolling billboard to downtown Milwaukee Thursday, to 'counter billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s campaign of fear against Badger State gun owners.'"

"Bloomberg is part of Mayors Against Illegal Guns which has its own billboard truck cruising around the country with the message that 34 Americans are murdered by guns every day."

"The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has a truck too, It's message? 'Guns Save Lives.' ..." ...

Unlike nearly all the rest of us, everywhere you go you are surrounded by official armed guards, police escorts, and your highly trained personal private bodyguards. Mr. Mayor, is your life worth more than the lives of your fellow citizens? Or are we mere 'subjects' in your eyes?" ...

"A Washington County man lost his Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms when he was convicted in 1995 of cocaine trafficking and receiving stolen firearms, a federal appeals court ruled today."

"James F. Barton, 51, of Washington, claimed the law making it illegal for a felon to possess a firearm was unconstitutional. His appeal cited a 2008 U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down a District of Columbia law prohibiting the private ownership of handguns." ...

"However, the NRA has an ulterior motive. By allowing the terrorists' arms, they would frighten the American people into buying more guns, thus lining the pockets of the NRA, the gun manufacturers and the legislators who support the gun lobby." ...

"If top officials in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE)--and, for that matter, in the Department of Justice (and Department of State?)--had thought that media (and congressional) scrutiny of the growing 'Project Gunwalker' scandal would go no further than the CBS Evening News segment of Feb. 22, then last night's follow-up must have come as a nasty shock. So, too, must be new articles in the Los Angeles Times, and from the Center for Public Integrity." ...

"The latest controversy involves Project Gunrunner. The BATFE knowingly allowed firearms to get into the hands of Mexican drug gangs, instructing American gun dealers to go ahead with questionable—and even illegal—gun sales. When two of these guns wound up at the crime scene of a murdered Border Patrol agent, at least one U.S. Senator is calling the agency to task." ...

But the fact is, the ATF is embroiled in a major scandal now, one that won't go away anytime soon."

"There is a bill in the Connecticut legislature that would not only ban ownership and possession of firearm magazines with a capacity of over ten rounds, but it also requires confiscation of them within 90 days of the bill becoming law. There will be no grandfathering of ownership of these magazines. Possession of them after the 90 day period is a class D Felony, with prison time of one to five years, a $5,000.00 fine. In addition, the newly minted Felon loses the right of firearms and ammunition ownership for life. We know how well the turn in ratio of 'assault rifles' turn in worked when they were banned in New Jersey." ...

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
A state may not impose a charge for the enjoyment of a right granted by the federal constitution... The power to impose a license tax on the exercise of these freedoms is indeed as potent as the power of censorship which this Court has repeatedly struck down... a person cannot be compelled 'to purchase, through a license fee or a license tax, the privilege freely granted by the constitution.' —MURDOCK V. PENNSYLVANIA 319 US 105 (1942)
