I was eager to discover the best ammo for the Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm Shield because this is the compact pistol I most often use as my concealed carry gun.

I tested many brands and loads at the range, and below is the ammo I have loaded in my Smith & Wesson EDC (Everyday Carry).

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF’s) Chris Bort tried to show Face the Nation how easy it was to assemble a “ghost gun” but never managed to make the parts fit together.

His problems assembling the gun came after he struggled to take apart what appeared to be a Glock handgun, perhaps the simplest semiautomatic handgun to disassemble.

Senate File 109— the Prohibit Red Flag Gun Seizure Act — is sponsored by Sen. Bo Biteman, R-Ranchester. The bill would prohibit red flag gun laws from being enforced or implemented in Wyoming. Rep. Mark Jennings, R-Sheridan, ran a similar bill in the House during this session but it ultimately was not considered for introduction in the first week. A bill to further enhance Second Amendment protections in Wyoming hit the House floor for consideration Friday.

A credit card rule that has been on hold for more than a year that would track gun and ammunition buys could legally be banned in Ohio.

Following passage in its originating chamber, Senate Bill 148 now heads to the House of Representatives. Bill sponsor Sen. Terry Johnson, R-McDermott, says the rule is an invasion of privacy and an attack on Second Amendment rights.

Congress’ funding deal unveiled Sunday night overturns a longstanding “discriminatory” policy that Republican opponents said could restrict veterans’ Second Amendment rights. The provision included in the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2024 bans the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) from submitting veterans’ names to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check without a judge’s consent.

Some guns will be banned at voting locations and the waiting period for purchasing firearms is being extended to seven days under measures signed into law Monday by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The second-term Democrat was surrounded by city leaders and others inside a high school auditorium in Albuquerque when she signed four public safety measures that were passed by the Democratic-controlled Legislature during the recent 30-day session.

It’s been a year since the Republican Party of Texas voted to censure him for supporting tougher gun checks after the Uvalde school massacre, and not backing an anti-same-sex marriage bill.

And though U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, has put that episode behind, his critics have not. Those issues are frequently cited on the campaign trail by the four fellow Republicans running against the incumbent in Texas’ 23rd Congressional District in the March 5 primary.

You should come away asking one question after watching this interview between CBS News’ Margaret Brennan and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Sunday: what the hell did I just watch? If anything, ATF Director Steve Dettelbach made the case for his agency’s dissolution. I admit to being unable to watch all of it because it was more of a Moms Demand gun-grabber seminar. The term ‘ghost gun’ was used multiple times—that stuff doesn’t exist. And these are the federal officials tasked with fighting illegal firearm activity, among other things.

Former President Donald Trump won a major victory at the U.S. Supreme Court Monday when all nine justices ruled unanimously that his name will appear on the Colorado primary ballot, and it has far reaching implications.

Democrats in other states are also disappointed. As noted by Forbes, “Colorado was the first state to kick Trump off the ballot as lawsuits have proliferated across the country challenging his candidacy, with Maine and Illinois following, but the court’s ruling Monday kills those cases, as justices unilaterally found that states cannot remove federal candidates from the ballot.”

In a recent opinion piece for The Washington Post, a former staff writer described his harrowing experience with a home intruder and his decision not to use his firearm. While the writer’s restraint is commendable, the situation sheds light on several misconceptions and tactical errors regarding home defense. The op-ed mentions the writer’s hesitation to use his gun, stored trigger-locked and unloaded in a case, which he struggled to ready during the stressful encounter.

"Please boss, I only need one more day to really wrap things up. I promise I’ll be back in the office first thing on Wednesday with a ton more stuff for the exhibit." My desperate plea was designed to buy some extra time at the southern California location so I could consolidate the exhibit artifacts that I had found just hours before in San Diego. “No,” was his stern reply. “You’ve been gone for a whole week, it’s time you got back here and did some work. I expect to see you bright and early Tuesday morning.
