Representative Greg Walden showed his support for local hunters, fishermen and shooting enthusiasts. The U.S. House has recently approved the SHARE Act, also known as the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act. Supporters said the bill would protect access to public land and second amendment rights. While opponents said it would remove federal protections for wolves and expand the use of trapping. |

A federal appeals court on Friday reversed course and agreed to reconsider a February ruling on Maryland's stringent gun control law, which includes a ban on so-called assault weapons.
A three-judge panel last month sided with gun-rights advocates when, for the first time, it determined that owning semiautomatic firearms such as AR-15s and AK-47s amounts to a "fundamental right" deserving the highest level of protection under the Constitution. |

People from across the U.S. came to Colorado this weekend to train for emergency situations, in particular an active shooter. It was the largest training of its kind in the country.
The active shooter class continues to grow in popularity. Part of the reason is because it combines former and current law enforcement, military members and civilians, so anyone can learn alongside the professionals about how to take action in an active shooter situation and be the first line of defense. |

Regarding the editorial (“Again, ‘Guns Everywhere’ Is Not The Answer” March 2), the anti-gun advocates predicted before Ohio passed CCW laws and especially after they were expanded to include legally carrying in restaurants that served liquor, that Ohio would turn into the wild, wild west. And there would be blood in the streets. |

When it comes to junior hunters and hunting safety, I am old school. A former certified hunting safety instructor and father of two sons who were brought up with guns, my boys were indoctrinated early and often in all of the protocols of safe gun handling and safe hunting practices. (Each of them, at my insistence, took the state-certified hunting safety courses, not once, but twice). |

There’s nothing like familiarity to put a little extra spring in our First Gear step, and with Columbia River Knife and Tool, we have about all we can make realistic use of.
This is mainly because we’ve liked and used their products practically since the founding of the company in 1994. Excellent materials and functionality are just part of what’s kept us in the fold, but more than anything, we like the delicate balance CRKT always seems to strike between innovation and “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” We can even offer a couple of proofs.
