In a State House hearing room "packed" with people wearing Million Mom March tee shirts and "a cluster" of gun rights activists, opponents of the one-per-month bill said it would do nothing to curb gun trafficking because the practice is already illegal.

Gun control advocates are also pressing legislators to create a statewide database of spent bullets and shell casings of all guns sold in Massachusetts.

"Gun safety education could be integrated into other subjects such as health. A 15-minute presentation to elementary school children could qualify, supporters said." ~~I hope the parents check this curriculum before allowing it in their schools. It could wind up being the rabidly anti-gun propaganda already in the "health" section of the Meeks-Heit "Totally Awesome Health Book" series.

When Indian River County sheriff's deputies tell people they can't use their backyards for target practice, the most common response is a question: Where else can they shoot? "We don't know what to tell them," Sheriff Roy Raymond said.

Within two weeks, he should have an answer. The Indian River County Public Shooting Range, the first county-owned gun range, will open April 18.

Detroit police averaged three arrests for every murder in 1998 - a ratio so high that critics accuse the department of making wholesale arrests of witnesses, not suspects, just to get them to talk.

The 3-to-1 ratio of arrests to murders is far above that of other major U.S. cities.

~~But the police are only doing their job.

'Lucie' Suspect May Have Raped 400

A recently arrested Japanese man is thought to have raped over 400 women. It's difficult not to see the Japanese government as being complicit in these crimes because of its strict prohibition of firearms ownership.

Japan must wake up and realize that its people are no longer conquered subjects. Then it must recognize the people's right to self defense against both rapists and Chinese communists, and the right to possess the means to that end.
=====
KABA Note: Many people here in 'America' must wake-up as well.
