When Alaska U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola joined an Alaska Public Media call-in radio show this week, a self-proclaimed Peltola supporter and longtime hunter called in.

“I admire Representative Peltola, I remember when she was a legislative aide in Juneau many years ago, and watched her in the Legislature and was very impressed with her and still am — except for one thing. There is absolutely no reason why any Alaskan needs to own an AR-15.”

“Why in the world do you think anybody should own an AR-15?” the caller asked on Tuesday on Alaska Public Media’s “Talk of Alaska” program.

The full metal jacket flat nose (or FMJ-FN) is just as the name implies – a full metal jacketed bullet with a flat nose. This type of ammunition is popular among pistol shooters and is often sold on-site at shooting ranges, both indoor and outdoor. One of the main reasons the nose is flat is so you can more accurately gauge where the round lands on your targets. The diameter is much more pronounced when a target is hit, and some competitions prefer these over normal-style FMJ bullets.

We know your armed neighbor protected himself when he scared away the robber in the night. What we don’t know, and often can’t know, is how many other people your neighbor saved that night. Sure, we can come up with a number, but this is why that simple question of lives saved is so difficult to answer.

The hideous laws designed to violate almost all parts of the Bill of Rights are finally being struck down as unconstitutional. The Supreme Court of the State of New York, the state's second highest court, recently ruled the state's so-called "red flag" law unconstitutional. These unconstitutional gun confiscation schemes go by different designations, but they are colloquially known as red flag laws. The gun-grabbing ghouls of the far left are creative in describing their operation.

Nevada Democrats and gun control advocates rallied around a trio of bills Thursday that amplified calls for gun regulation while recalling the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting that became the deadliest in U.S. history. More than five years after a shooter killed scores of people at a country music concert, the recent rise in mass shootings across the U.S. was repeatedly cited in debates over a bill to solidify language meant to ban homemade “ghost guns” and raise the eligible age to possess semi automatic shotguns and assault weapons from 18 to 21.

I love museums. Firearms museums in particular. When I was stationed at the Pentagon, I would spend many hours at the National Firearms Museum in the NRA building enjoying the displays, taking away different highlights each time. I had been wanting to take a father/son trip with my dad for some time, so this year, we arranged a trip to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and Cody Firearms Museum.

I wouldn't classify myself as a Springfield Armory fanboy, but after spending a lot of time and brass with the Hellcat Pro, I may become one. I never gave Springfield guns much thought until I reviewed and bought the Hellion. That bullpup slowly won me over, and after six months with the Hellcat Pro, this gun is doing the same.
