FULL TEXT BELOW:
A passenger at a Hopkins Airport Thursday found a gun in the restroom. The woman turned it over to authorities.
The gun apparently belongs to a federal air marshal who had recently deplaned, gone to the restroom and left the weapon behind. The federal air marshal service is investigating.
For the most part, Hopkins passengers said it sounds like an honest mistake, and said the marshal should not be fired. They're glad the firearm didn't slip through security.
------- Think about it. The government disarms law abiding, peaceable citizens to the point where we are not even allowed to carry knitting needles aboard an airplane. It is making us depend on armed "government agents" for protection, because supposedly they are somehow more capable and professional than we are. And yet, one of these stellar elite leaves her firearm in a bathroom for anyone to find. |

"Since firearms don't wear out under normal usage, about the only means the gun makers have of persuading shooters to buy new guns is to introduce new cartridges."
"I sympathize with the industry's plight, and I wouldn't object to the introduction of a new round now and then to keep the pump primed if it were kept within reason. But 20 rounds in half a dozen years definitely exceed the bounds of reason."

Well, this one just gets it wrong straight out of the gate. How sad that a person who fancies himself a "journalist" - especially someone who attempts to teach the art of journalism others - cannot even get his facts straight.
------- "Two months before the election, lawmakers will have to decide whether to pass a new ban on assault weapons. Now get this right, these are not machine guns. They are outlawed now and still will be. ..."
Ummm, no, they are not outlawed. Under the provisions of Federal Law, anyone over the age of 21 who is not prohibited from owning a firearm may own NFA weapons including machine guns, sound suppressors (commonly referred to as silencers) and short barreled rifles and shotguns. All you have to do is complete the paperwork and pay the $200 extortion fee. You might want to inform this pseudo professor of the facts and encourage him to do a bit more research before spewing.

This is a revealing view into the "public servants" (read: nazis with badges) whose only purpose in life is to steal what you have to feed the tyranny that enslaves you.
A few juicy, nauseating tidbits:
"Never go into a business thinking, 'Am I going to seize this place?' Always go in thinking, 'What am I going to seize in this place?' "
"We do not have problems. The taxpayer has problems."
"This job is about one thing and one thing only, and that one thing is not called 'government service.' You want to know what that one thing is called? . . . Power. This job is about power and you and me are the princes of power."
"This is the underlying philosophy behind all enforcement: 'You took the people's money and now the people want it back. You can either give it back voluntarily or we will take it from you forcibly.' " -- the PEOPLE'S money? This fascist should take some basic economics and English lessons. |

Ever tried to explain the real purpose of the 2nd Amendment to someone and received a dismissive sneer in response? "Yeah, like a bunch of people with rifles could take on the military! What are you going to do to a tank," they always say. The Iraqis seem to be doing a decent job answering those questions lately, and it looks like some of the usual suspects have noticed.
My favorite comment so far:
I have always been an anti-NRA dove, and I have always believed George Harrison's remark: "If everyone who owned a gun would just shoot themselves, there wouldn't be any gun problem."
But now...? Now I am frightened and ready to apply for a gun permit. ...

"The Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition and the Consumer Federation of America Foundation are working to educate consumers about the lack of safety regulation of firearms. ------- "Locals call it the land of ducks, but Traverse County on the western border of Minnesota earned another distinction in the past year: It has the highest rate of conceal-and-carry permits than any of the state's other 86 counties."
"Part of the reason for Traverse County's high rate is because of its small population. But there is another reason: This is hunting country, three hours west of St. Cloud, and some residents said their attachment to guns has more to do with the ducks flying overhead than personal security. Indeed, there's little to fear in Traverse County, a place where people leave their garage doors open and neighbors know who's at the corner store by the make and model of the car parked outside."
Funny enough, the high gun ownership rate has not led to blood in the streets, much to the chagrin of the gun banners, we're sure...
" 'It's not like this is a big crime area where people are worried about their homes,' said Jim Smoger, news editor of the Wheaton Gazette, circulation 2,200. "A new law that made it easier for most Minnesotans to carry a handgun in public has drawn far less interest than the Legislature projected a year ago."
"With just a month to go until the first anniversary of the Personal Protection Act of 2003, less than half of the estimated 50,000 people who were expected to apply in the first year for a right-to-carry permit have done so."
"Of the 17,325 people who have been issued permits, some two dozen who were initially turned away by local sheriffs because of domestic assault, felony theft or drunken driving convictions later got permits. Otherwise, the law's effects appear to be much milder than what supporters and opponents predicted."

"A City Council bill that would require guns to be equipped with childproof 'smart gun' technology has been blasted by Staten Island gun owners as a dumb idea."
"The bill, to be introduced later this month by City Council Speaker Gifford Miller (D-Manhattan), would require guns sold or possessed in the city to be 'personalized' so they can be fired by authorized adult users only." ...

" 'They aim to disarm us,' said Tony Castellano, membership director of the Staten Island Sportsmen's Club..."
"Castellano argued that the bill, if enacted, would be ignored by criminals who own illegal guns. A crackdown on gun-toting criminals would accomplish the city's public safety goals without infringing upon the rights of law-abiding gun owners, he said."

"A Muskegon Heights police officer was recovering this weekend from a lost finger after a handgun he had seized from a suspect discharged at police headquarters."
"Officer Mario D. Sain suffered the loss of his right small finger, police and fire officials said. They said Sain was placing a .40-caliber Glock semi-automatic pistol in a box at about 4:10 p.m. Friday when the weapon discharged. The gun was being readied for shipment to a crime lab where it was to be checked for fingerprints and other possible clues."
------- Of course it could never be that the officer violated at least one rule of gun safety, and more likely 2 rules. It was the gun's fault! Bad gun! No supper for you! |

"FROM the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Tafa Balogun, came the confirmation, weekend, that the large scale ammunition in wrong hands was partly responsible for the upsurge in violent crimes and the high profile killings witnessed of late in the country."
"But Balogun said the police were doing their best to contain the onslaught by the men of the underworld as, according to him, no fewer than 33 armed robbery suspects had shot dead by the police in the first quarter of the year with 153 in the net."
"Five policemen also lost their lives in the hands of the dare-devil robbers."
------- Translation: Bad guys can get guns and ammunition at will, and are, then, able to prey on the peasants who have been disarmed by their government. |

"Trzos, 26, pleaded no contest before Macomb County Circuit Judge Richard L. Caretti to one count of assault and battery, one count of possessing a firearm while intoxicated and one count of being a disorderly person." |
