When most people think of concealed carry guns, they picture compact versions of larger firearms specifically made to be carried on the waist in an IWB or OWB holster. But, that’s not the only way to carry concealed. Nor are compact versions of bigger guns the only good options. There is a whole category that is often left out when considering what to carry and how: pocket pistols. Also called micro pistols, these guns are small enough you can literally put them in your pocket and not have to have a holster strapped to your belt line or worry a print-reducing cover garment. If capacity isn’t your only consideration, this can be a great way to carry a gun in situations where concealment is paramount. |

When I first heard Benelli was introducing a new firearm, I automatically assumed it was a semi-auto shotgun of sorts as the name Benelli is synonymous with premium shotguns. From their ever-popular Super Black Eagle and Super Sport to a variety of Performance Shop models, Benelli has produced some of the finest scatterguns available. When I discovered their newest addition to the lineup was actually a bolt-action rifle, it was quite the surprise. Benelli is introducing the LUPO, a bolt-action rifle dedicated to the serious hunter. By the way, LUPO means wolf in Italian. |

A man who allegedly approached another man and pulled a gun on him late Sunday night on Detroit's west side was arrested at a hospital after he recovered from gunshot wounds, police said.
At about 9:30 p.m., police say the 28-year-old suspect approached a 23-year-old man and pulled a gun on him. This took place in the 19200 block of West McNichols, west of the Southfield Freeway.
But the victim has a concealed weapons permit holder, police say, and he pulled a gun of his own and shot the suspect.
When the suspect turned up at a hospital, after being privately transported there, he was placed under arrest and listed in temporary serious condition. |

Joe Genzel and Kelly Presley consider hunting and fishing a solitary pursuit, relatively speaking. Sounds like a perfect hobby in the coronavirus era. Just not on state-owned property. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has closed to the public state parks, fish and wildlife areas, recreational areas and historic sites, in response to the COVID-19 threat. |

It shouldn’t have been hard to see this one coming. A Utah man was re-incarcerated after a parole violation. He was released in early March to a halfway house, but soon after that, he was released due to Covid-19 concerns. Two days after his release, he breaks into a woman’s home and tries to sneak up a flight of stairs into her room, but she is awakened by the sound of creaking stairs to see this man holding a large knife over her. She screams, he threatens to kill her then ties her up with shoelaces.

In recent years, the Bay State's two highest-ranking public officials have been at war with the Second Amendment. In 2016, Attorney General Maura Healey (D) unilaterally perverted a state law that had been on the books for 18 years in order to prohibit thousands of legal semi-automatic firearms. In 2018, Governor Charlie Baker (R) undermined the government's system of checks and balances to attack gun owners when he refused to reinstate some Massachusetts residents' Firearm Owner Identification (FID) Cards after the Firearm Licensing Review Board had restored their gun rights and a judge had issued a lawful court order directing the state to grant the FID card. |

My good friend Randy Schiferl wanted to buy his very first handgun, and he had questions for me. Lots of them—best models, worst, prices, calibers and on it went. “Let’s go to the range,” I said. “I’ll bring a half dozen handguns and ammo and we’ll see what works best for you. Okay?” |

While you’re reading this several months into 2020, it was written in the last dregs of the previous year. The original intent was to look back on the “Twenty-teens” as the decade that nearly ate a bunch of pistol calibers, but that’s getting bumped back a month. Instead, the events at the West Freeway Church of Christ in suburban Fort Worth, TX, are still fresh in the news. Because of that, the heroic response of congregation member Jack Wilson, who demonstrated skill and coolness in stopping the threat, is in the front of my mind.

I like guns.
Sometimes these days that is not the most popular thing to say. But like many aspects of life I feel it is best just be honest from the start. Some people don’t like guns and that is OK. I think it is very interesting one of the things that is happening during this entire crisis with the COVID-19 situation is that gun sales have skyrocketed. Many folks out there who may have never considered buying a firearm are going to the gun store.

Safety. Personal safety and safety of family are the reasons for gun purchases of many first-time gun buyers. And, as we are beginning to see, many first-time gun buyers are angry with the gun restrictions they once supported. Laws that prevent law-abiding people from being able to make purchases without restriction are being called "harassment," "unreasonable," "excessive," and "damned ridiculous." |

Rifleman” is a uniquely American word given the connotation in which we often use it. Many cultures embrace hunting, and quite a few have rifles commonly accessible for defense, but none as populous as ours has such a large and vital following dedicated to real skill at arms with the long gun. From the early colonists with their matchlocks to the present, a continuous thread of cultural association with the rifle and the importance of marksmanship runs through our history. |

The .4” buckshot size doesn’t get as much use by shooters as it probably should. A very nice home-defense round, .4" buck is also a lot of fun to shoot on the range. Pumping a few rounds into various-sized targets is very satisfying with this ammo type because the power and penetration is just staggering.
Sometimes people will see this ammo for sale either preloaded or loose, and wonder what exactly it is. The best thing to compare it to is 000 buck, which comes in at .36” diameter pellets. The .4” is slightly bigger, and the result is one of the most devastating sizes of shotgun pellets on the market today. The primary manufacturer of this ammo is NobleSport, a company widely known for their competition-grade shotgun ammunition. |
