The State Attorney was persuaded that Lewandowski was trying to protect Trump. It is a good and viable defense. Similar to self-defense, the law allows the accused to claim “defense of another” to excuse his otherwise criminal conduct. A good prosecutor will examine the totality of the circumstances. That is, why did it happen? What events led to the physical touching? In a phone call to the State Attorney, Trump said his campaign manager was trying to protect him from an overly-aggressive reporter who was getting too physically close to him. One Secret Service agent confirmed that Fields touched Trump before Lewandowski pulled her away. The video proves both accounts. Cameras don’t lie.

A massive new handgun tax imposed in one U.S. territory could serve as a blueprint for Democrats to ban firearms throughout the country without being shut down by the Constitution.
Late last month, a federal judge ruled unconstitutional a 40-year-old total ban on handguns in the Northern Mariana Islands. In the ruling, the judge declared: “[B]ecause the people of the Commonwealth are part of the American people who have overwhelmingly chosen handguns as their principal means of self-defense, the Second Amendment protects that right here as well.” |

The five remaining Republicans vying for U.S. Senate pledged to defend the Second Amendment Thursday at a debate hosted by the Pikes Peak Firearm Coalition.
There were several lighthearted moments during the debate, such as when moderator Jeff Crank asked if the candidates felt safer at the VFW in downtown Colorado Springs with several members of the audience "carrying a firearm that could do great lethal damage," than at a gun-free rally for presidential candidate Democratic Sen. Bernie Sanders. |

According to police, two men got into a dispute over speeding. That's when police say, one driver followed the other to an auto service station where he worked and began to act agressively.
Police said the upset man punched the employee and that's when the man pulled out a knife in self-defense, cutting the man's arm.
Police tracked down the injured man at a nearby apartment complex. He was taken to a hospital for his injury.
Police said the man defending himself will not be facing any charges. |

Dana Loesch, host of “The Dana Show” and author of Hands Off My Gun, has no qualms about expressing her opinion—no matter whether it fits the narrative that the mainstream media wants to sell or not. Six new videos released on NRA News confirm her willingness to tell it like it is.
The first video, featured under the “Commentators” series, is “The Real ‘Gunsplainers.’” Dana exposes the stupidity behind Cosmopolitan magazine’s attack on gun owners and explores how this hostility to firearms actually works to disempower women. Under the guise of feminism, what the fashion magazine is really presenting to women is encouragement to make themselves vulnerable. |

This militia of farmers, shopkeepers, merchants and ordinary citizens used their own weapons, many of which were inferior to those of the British regulars. They were, in fact, not "well regulated" until they met at Sycamore Shoals and organized themselves for battle.
If there is any doubt about the meaning of and the reason for the Second Amendment to our Constitution, this should answer your question. |

Two University of South Alabama students were confronted by campus police Wednesday, and one student was cited for “causing alarm” by wearing an empty holster.
“This week is the empty holster protest for Students for Concealed Carry in Alabama to demonstrate that students are defenseless on campus,” D.J. Parten, president of Students for Concealed Carry, told Campus Reform. Along with fellow club member Kenneth Tews, Parten was also promoting an upcoming screening of the movie Can We Take a Joke? when three campus police officers approached their table demanding identification. |

A lot of people talk about and write about getting prepared for a SHTF situation however these arguments always focus on the firearm itself, caliber, portability, cool factor etc. and always seem to leave out small details which I feel are very important.
I am a gun guy, I love my guns and I just recently got more into them acquiring around 17 in the last 2 years. I not only have modern firearms but I also have my FFL 03 collector’s license. |

In the upcoming election, there will be a ballot initiative requiring background checks for all gun buyers in the state of Nevada. Currently, background checks are performed for buyers in gun stores, but are not performed between unlicensed buyers and sellers, including strangers who meet online or at gun shows. This initiative will close this loophole.

Social sciences instructor Lisa Baer, despite being from a gun-owning family, is not a supporter of concealed carry in general, and is weary of the idea of armed students. She believes the uncertainty of guns in her classroom would weigh on her teaching psyche and therefore hurt the learning environment.
“I think it would always be in the back of my mind,” Baer said.
Baer also says the concern of carriers not having been adequately trained in their weapon is a major factor in her stance on the matter overall, not just on college campuses. |

This morning, a Connecticut judge denied a motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought against the manufacturers of the Bushmaster assault rifle by several families of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre. Bridgeport Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis' decision comes as a surprise since similar suits have been thrown out under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), a federal law that grants arms manufacturers broad immunity from liability claims. |

In Under the Gun, Katie Couric and Stephanie Soechtig—the team responsible for Fed Up, which looked at the food industry and the alarming spread of childhood obesity—examine why, despite the increase in deaths at the hands of guns and the outpouring of shock and outrage that comes with it, our nation has failed to respond with meaningful action. Through the lens of families impacted by the mass shootings in Newtown, Aurora, Isla Vista and Tucson, as well as daily gun violence in Chicago, the film examines why our national politicians are refusing to act and what is being done at the state and local levels. |

Federal Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Tatel wrote the opinion for the majority. Judge Garland agreed with both the decision and the reasoning of the Court and, so, adopted the opinion as his own, as if he had written the opinion himself. In the opinion the Judges go so far as to admit that the Justice Department’s “Audit Log” could indeed function as a gun registration system, but, then, upon that admission, the Judges attempt, unsuccessfully, to dismiss the import of it. The Judges say: “It does not follow, of course, that the Audit Log could never function as a firearm registry. But the Log’s deficiencies as a system for registering firearms make, it unlikely that it would be used for that purpose.” |

Lawmakers unveiled bills to close a gun loophole and create a public works jobs program on Thursday.
House Majority Leader Valerie Longhurst, D-Bear, and Rep. Ed Osienski, D-Newark, introduced House Bill 325, which would prevent gun sellers from giving customers guns until that person passes a background check.
Currently, a seller can move forward with a sale if the federal government does not process the background check within three business days. |
