... "'USA Brass passed a subsequent inspection by OSHA,' Marbut wrote. 'However, upon OSHA’s first visit, I’m told, USA Brass managers didn’t kneel quickly enough to OSHA inspectors and offended them by not being subserviently cooperative. So, the subsequent raid by EPA, FBI and others was conducted to teach them a lesson about federal power and proper cooperation.'" ...
"'Lawyers for USA Brass have persuaded the principals that they should hunker down and make no waves, for fear of triggering more Draconian and punitive federal actions,' Marbut related, explaining the company’s relative silence over the past few weeks." ... |

"I’d like to offer my condolences to the family of William Lewis Corporon, Reat Underwood, and Terri LaManno. May you find comfort and hope in your time of loss. There are people, both Jews and non-Jews, who will find in this latest act of horrific murder a reason to call for further restrictions on the fundamental right to keep and bear arms. In this time of holiness for Jews and Christians, I’m compelled to reflect on the meaning of freedom and our responsibilities to our fellow man. As a Jew, I believe that restricting these rights is not in keeping with the teachings of Passover. Traditionally we ask four questions to help tell the story of the Exodus, but today I only have one . . ."

Guns like the Mk25 P226 – used by the Navy SEALs – and SIG’s recently introduced line of 1911 handguns. Now SIG is diving head-first into the competitive arena of polymer-framed striker-fired pistols, a market long dominated by GLOCK. SIG’s submission: the P320 . . ." ... |

"In spite of the date – Income Tax Day – a pair of issues from a few weeks ago combine to make a point that should be examined. Mike Seeklander noted and pointed out 'training scars' – a behavior ingrained through repetition on the range that runs against that which is appropriate on the street. His piece had to do with observations he’d made during training events he taught in which he had students participate in a shoot-off. Like most of us, he feels that competition can be helpful in driving up the appropriate type of stress and to harden the retention of lessons learned in the class. He specifically orders all students to . . ."

"I’ve been doing some long range shooting and as I get older, I hurt the next day from shooting prone. I like my big bore rifles enough that I won’t get rid of any, just change the way I shoot them. Shooting from sitting or standing is much more preferable, due to how recoil is distributed to your body. Not to mention, how your body reacts to the recoil. So I decided to build a portable shooting bench, as I like to travel out to the woods for some 12-1500 yard plinking. After some thought, I went to Home Depot and gathered what I thought I would need . . ." ... |

"I wish I’d been at the meeting when Mayor Mike’s marketing mavens came up with that Everytown for Gun Safety moniker. Everytown. It’s like . . . every town. Every town in America is for gun safety. But what about the cities? We already have the cities. Besides, city people like to think they live in towns. New York, New York, my kind of town. Why one word? Why no hyphen? It’s like Everyman. You mean Arthur Dent? Arthur Dent was an everyman. He wore pajamas all day. I bet Arthur Dent would support gun control. Wait. Can we use that? Do we know that for a fact? We’re talking about marketing, not facts. Anyway, Everytown for Gun Safety has its first high profile member, and he’s a real Nutter . . ." ... |

"All’s well that ends well. That seems to be the conclusion of unarmed bicyclist Michael Bowman, the man knocked off his bike and punched in the head by 'youths' on Baltimore’s Guilford Avenue. In fact, at the end of the news report above, Mr. Bowman impishly suggests that his attackers should come and join him on the road. Singing Kumbaya in five-part harmony as they pedal, no doubt. The fact that Mr. Bowman could have been killed by the fall from his bike or the repeated blows to his head doesn’t seem to have penetrated the mantle of obliviousness enveloping the bits under his bike helmet. In fact, one wonders what Bowman means when he says . . ." ... |

"Texas Congressman Steve Stockman is known for his strong stance on the Second Amendment and his critique of the Obama administration."
"With a recent bill introduced by Stockman, he would deny states that require gun owners to register their guns federal funding. This has proven to be an effective tactic the federal government has used in the past to force states to adopt certain regulations. In this case, Stockman is going to attempt to use the strategy to protect American’s Second Amendment rights." ... -------

May issue states either require the applicant to show that they need a carry permit, or put a lot of control over who gets a permit into the hands of select individuals (such as local sheriffs or police chiefs)."
