Three weeks ago, anti-gun marchers blaming the Second Amendment and gun rights organizations for firearms-related violence rallied in Baltimore, Chicago and elsewhere, but weekend shootings in both Democrat strongholds demonstrated once again demonstrate the disconnect in common sense: Criminals don’t obey the law and they pay no attention to gun control marches.

Massachusetts’ highest court ruled Tuesday that the state’s ban on civilian possession of stun guns violates the U.S. Constitution’s right to bear arms. The decision is a reversal for the court, which reached an opposite conclusion in a different case in 2015. The U.S. Supreme Court, however, set aside that earlier ruling, saying the Massachusetts court failed to properly explain its decision.

The National Rifle Association (NRA) last week said it is supporting a legal challenge to Maryland’s state restrictions on carrying a handgun. The lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. “Denying the majority of law-abiding citizens the right to carry a firearm outside of the home is unconstitutional,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. “The government cannot require citizens to prove a special need in order to exercise their fundamental rights.”

The Chiappa Rhino revolver isn’t exactly new, but 10 years after its introduction a surprisingly large number of shooters are completely unaware of how revolutionary the design really is. I blame it on the gun’s unconventional appearance. Its blocky, science-fiction look suggests clumsiness and bucks 180 years of tradition. However, once you’ve shot one, you realize those ungainly lines are immaterial. The Rhino’s aluminum frame and stainless steel cylinder keep it light for fast handling and the gun points well. Most importantly, the Rhino’s unique design and ergonomics make it more controllable, and thus faster shooting, than any normal, barrel-on-top .357 Mag. revolver of comparable size.

New Jersey’s governor praised lawmakers on Monday for advancing gun control measures, including legislation to prohibit the purchase of firearms parts used to make untraceable weapons, or so-called ghost guns. “As gun violence continues to plague our country, New Jersey will lead the way by setting a higher standard for gun safety,” Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, said in a statement. He stopped short of saying he would sign the measures, but called on the Democrat-led Senate to pass them. Senate President Steve Sweeney has said he intends to take up the bills.

On June 9, 1944, a U.S. Navy LCVP picked up a group of 9th Air Force Troop Carrier Command pilots off Utah Beach in Normandy. At some point after midnight on June 6th, these men had steered Waco and Horsa gliders into landing zones in the hedgerows of the Cotentin Peninsula. After landing, they made their way down to the beach so they could be returned to their squadrons in England to fly future missions. Since they might encounter trouble between the landing zone and the beach, they carried individual weapons and ammunition. Some even took the extra precaution of camouflaging their helmets with strips of canvas scrim.

The “Lost in Space” reboot just released on Netflix is actually very entertaining. There are some big changes from the original series, but the heart and intrigue of the stranded Robinson family is mostly intact — aside from Mom, Maureen Robinson (Molly Parker), consistently belittling her husband, John (Toby Stephens) for little apparent reason.

The talk of the town for the past year was the quest for a new tenant to fill the empty former Fred Meyer store. Talk shifted to uproar last week when a proposal for an indoor shooting range surfaced.

The controversy stems from the potent combination of downtown-proud Palmer residents and broader concerns about guns.

The state-of-the-art range — 29 lanes up to almost 200 feet long — is proposed by a local company called Valkyrie Security and Asset Protection Inc. that promises to drum up local taxes and hire 60 to 80 people.

The proposal has generated such a debate that city officials delayed a decision in order to give the public more say.

They talk a lot, embrace double standards, have many wonderful sounding ideas, and deride facts, figures and anything Trump.

As Democrat controlled media fills the airwaves with hate, fake news, double standards, and lies, it seems there is no longer hope for a land that appears to have abandoned all traditional values. Values like family, personal responsibility, hard work, divine providence, and the unbearable notion of freedom.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
The supposed quietude of a good mans allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside...Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them... — Thomas Paine, I Writings of Thomas Paine at 56 (1894).
