When shooters hear the words “guide gun, big game, and lever action rifles” used in the same sentence, most will immediately think of the 45-70 Government. And for good reason too, as the 45-70 was one of the cartridges that won the West and can take down virtually any North American game animal.

On Wednesday, Detroit's top leaders will come together to announce a sweeping plan to fight gun violence.
This comes after five shootings happened in just 24 hours in downtown Detroit. Many agree that enough is enough.
"I'm all for gun-free zones where there's densely populated areas," Detroit resident Hallan Stanton said.
Detroit city councilwoman Mary Waters is now proposing gun-free zones in downtown Detroit. Those areas would include Hart Plaza, Spirit Plaza, the Detroit Riverwalk, and Greektown.
She says the gun-free zones would be enforced with more than just a sign, but the details and the legality of the idea is still up for debate.

If you quickly glance at 38 Special and 357 Magnum ammo, you might not notice any differences and think they were the same round. Although they are almost identical in their case dimensions, the 38 Special and 357 Magnum are extremely different.

Rember that time a report from 2013 commissioned by President Barack Obama, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) found that the use of firearms for self-defense was and is a significant crime deterrent. The report, titled “Priorities For Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence,” * notes that most firearm incidents do not result in a fatality and that violent crimes, including homicides, have declined in the past five years. It also highlights that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year. |

"Flow motion" has been activated, which means bills are being moved at an alarming pace, with the intention of having them moved through committee and voted on the same day. This process poses a serious risk to our Second Amendment rights. “Red flag” laws, which enable the government to confiscate a person’s firearms and extinguish their Second Amendment rights, have been proposed as a “solution” to prevent mass shootings. Knowing that gun rights supporters strongly oppose “red flag” legislation, there have been some attempts to describe these types of laws by other names. |

The remarks below are from a speech delivered by Wayne LaPierre at the Conservative Political Action Conference on March 3rd of this year. I have a profound appreciation for the checks and balances, guaranteed individual rights and constitutional republic our Founding Fathers established. I believe this country is different than others in a noble and virtuous way. |

A new bill is making its way through the Florida Legislature that would prohibit payment processors from discriminating against businesses and citizens who sell or purchase firearms and ammunition in the Sunshine State. House Bill 221 prohibits credit card companies and banks from assigning special codes to categorize firearms businesses while prohibiting the use of a registry that would keep a record of legal gun owners. |

President Joe Biden berated Republicans over the weekend for supporting the National Rifle Association following two shootings in Alabama and Kentucky. “This morning, our nation is once again grieving for at least four Americans tragically killed at a teen’s birthday party in Dadeville, Alabama as well as two others killed last night in a crowded public park in Louisville,” Biden said. “Jill and I are praying for their families, and for the many others injured and fighting for their lives in the wake of this weekend’s gun violence.” |

In the wake of the Covenant School shooting, mayors across Tennessee — including Nashville's John Cooper — are asking the state legislature to adopt stricter gun laws. Joining Cooper were mayors Lee Harris of Shelby County, Tim Kelly, mayor of Chattanooga, and Indya Kincannon, mayor of Knoxville. Together, they sent a joint memo to Gov. Bill Lee and other leaders to support extreme risk laws following the March 27 deaths of three children and three adults at Covenant School. |

It is not often that I am asked to review a firearm older than I am! The Smith and Wesson Victory Model .38-caliber revolver is just such a gun. I think Guns.com sent me this gun to stump me. I had to do some research, as I have never held or fired one before. I am told that it is a collectible firearm. Today I will examine this pistol in detail to determine its accuracy and power. |
