Jack Stokes, a spokesman for AP, said: "AP allows the use of the word 'terrorist' for individuals or non-governmental groups that launch attacks, especially against civilian targets. However, words like 'gunman,' 'bomber,' 'separatist' and 'rebel' are often more precise and less likely to be viewed as judgmental. For those reasons, we often prefer the more specific words."
-- But using 'Assault weapons' & 'cop-killer bullets' is not being judgmental? |

"If Maryland's gun control laws are as "common sense" and "effective" as the writer claims, perhaps he can explain why Maryland's violent crime rate is two to three times higher than those of the adjoining states of Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania."
"Of the states adjoining Maryland, only Delaware has a violent crime rate similar to Maryland's. By coincidence, only Delaware has gun control laws that are similar to Maryland's." |

"A music teacher in an inner-city MI grade school is getting an earful from the higher-ups about the type of songs she can use in her classroom."
"school administrators informed her that she could not use any songs in class that contain the words 'freedom' or 'liberty.'" Why not, you might wonder. Simple: "Because some children in the school are not U.S. citizens."
"Since when did freedom and liberty become exclusively American? Since when did they become so offensive to foreigners?" |

--Although not RKBA-related, it is clearly a step towards restoration of a Constitutional government. And it gives me hope.
""The right to think is the beginning of freedom, and speech much be protected from the government because speech is the beginning of thought," Justice Kennedy noted. "To preserve these freedoms, and to protect speech for its own sake, the court’s First Amendment cases draw vital distinctions between words and deeds, between ideas and conduct. The government may not prohibit speech because it increases the chance that an unlawful act will be committed at ‘some indefinite future time.’" |

"If "nearly 690,000 criminals and others" were stopped from buying guns, how many criminals were convicted, or even brought to prosecution for breaking this law? Of the "others" who were stopped from buying guns, how many innocent citizens were erroneously stopped? How many criminals "stopped" but not arrested for breaking this law were subsequently able to acquire firearms by illegal methods?" |
