"Ceasefire, which has support of U.S. attorneys in Kansas and Missouri as well as area police departments, is aimed at educating the public about gun crimes and reducing their incidence. ... Ceasefire, aimed at crime prevention, builds on Project Felon, designed to increase prosecutions. Together, both programs should help Kansas Citians feel a little bit safer." |

Ohio Lt. Governor Maureen O'Connor visited with Medina elementary students. The article says "She was particularly pleased with the student who asked why someone has to be 21 years old to buy alcohol, but can buy a gun at age 18." The pupils had been studying state government for several weeks.
~~The fact that such a young student asked this question after "studying" state government shows the level of indoctrination at work in the public school system, even at the elementary level. |

"Since 1992, Teens on Target workers have gone into classrooms across the Los Angeles area, preaching peace and demonstrating the perils of the street with their own broken bodies as tragic testimony. Most of the program's young field staff has been maimed by gun violence."
~~But according to the article, they aren't an anti-gun group. Their aim is to improve the lives of teenagers who still have a chance to choose how their lives are going to unfold. |

A day before the second anniversary of the massacre staged by two teenage gunmen at Columbine High School, a state lawmaker on Thursday proposed raising the legal age to own a handgun in Colorado from 18 to 21. "On this second anniversary it only seems right to once again tackle this issue of reasonable and sensible gun control," said state Rep. Peter Groff, who plans to introduce a similar bill in the Colorado House. |

Today in the NC House Judiciary Committee, gun owners got a "fair trial and a quick hanging" when the committee promptly passed HB320, a mandatory gun storage law that subjects law abiding gun owners to potential criminal prosecution for the theft of their firearms. Despite your intense input to the committee in opposition to the bill, passage from the committee means HB320 WILL BE VOTED ON BY THE ENTIRE HOUSE NEXT WEEK.

"An off-duty Dallas narcotics officer kidnapped a woman at gunpoint from outside her home and sexually assaulted and robbed her in his truck, police said in court records."
KABA NOTE: We sincerely hope for her fast physical and psychological recovery. This sad story shows that rapists come in all shapes, sizes, colors and professions. It pays to be prepared and armed for self-defense! |

The opening of a new gun store in New Jersey, "just blocks" from a pair of private schools, has provoked protests and calls for legislative action.
1. How many blocks is "just blocks"? 2. The shop was approved by zoning. 3. A gun shop poses no danger to the public; I wonder just WHO instigated this "public" outcry. |

April 19 has come to mean Waco and Oklahoma City. It's a shame, because until recently, April 19 was celebrated as a revolutionary date in American history: "Patriots' Day". On April 18, 1775, Paul Revere began his famous ride and call to arms, which marked the beginning of our War of Independence. It was on April 19 that the first blood was spilled for American freedom. |
