Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, a Republican, reportedly publicly addressed for the first time Monday the impending special legislative session on public safety and gun reform he is planning on holding in the wake of last month's shooting carried out by a transgender person at Christian school in Nashville that left six people dead. "What we plan to do is work together with the General Assembly to find a way that will in fact protect the broader public, that will protect the rights of Tennesseans," Lee told reporters in Chattanooga, according to WKRN. "We believe we can do that."

There’s a problem in our society when people face prosecution for defending themselves in public, and when a major network props up an anti-gun activist on Sunday morning television to ridicule the basic right to self-defense with lies and rhetoric, the underlying issue and our rights at large as Americans face even greater peril.

MI: Livingston commissioners pass Constitutional County resolution pushing back on slew of gun bills

On Monday Livingston County declared itself a so-called "Constitutional County."

The county's board of commissioners voted unanimously to pass this resolution. Many are saying this is a grassroots effort to push back against Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's gun control policies.

"You gentlemen are patriots," said one resident during public comment.

A full house was in attendance for the vote on a resolution stating the county's commitment to the U.S. and Michigan Constitutions. It is also a rebuke of recent gun reform efforts passed by the Democrat-majority state legislature and signed into law by Whitmer days ago.

"People need to be able to protect themselves and their families," said one resident.

If it weren’t for the double standard, liberals (aka “progressives”) would have no standards at all.

As Democrat lawmakers continue pushing increasingly restrictive gun control laws, many states are witnessing a rush on gun stores ahead of what could be bans on certain firearms, as has been the case in Washington state.

For those who don’t remember the former Illinois Congressman, he served on the Jan. 6 House committee alongside Liz Cheney where he read from prepared scripts and cried a lot, was censured by the RNC and forced to leave Congress in disgrace, and then, of course, ended up with a job at CNN.

However, with a few recent introductions, small-bore shotguns are generating a lot of attention from shooters and hunters, who initially dismissed them.

New York City has some of the most-restrictive firearms laws in the country. Still, in 2021, criminals committed nearly 8,000 felonies with guns in what some affectionately call “Gotham.” How does that add up? The disparity in these two facts shows that, indeed, if it is criminal to have a gun, only criminals will have guns.

CVA started out making muzzleloaders back in the 1970s, but has grown into a much larger company with an ever-expanding product line. Today we are talking about the company’s first venture into centerfire bolt-action rifles: the CVA Cascade. This rifle uses a three-lug 70-degree bolt and is fed by a detachable box magazine. The rifle I am reviewing today is chambered in .350 Legend, a great choice for short-range hunting and one familiar to me. What remained unknown to me was whether the Cascade would meet my needs for a deer rifle.

Is it practical to wear bullet-resistant body armor every single day? Premier Body Armor, headquartered in Gastonia, North Carolina, certainly thinks so and offers a lightweight solution with its level IIIA Phoenix Everyday Armor T-Shirt. I've always liked the idea of daily body armor in principle. Whether you’re hunting, hitting the range, or just going about your daily business, it would be nice to know you have that extra layer of protection. But so far, it's always come with serious downsides: weight, fit, comfort, cost, mobility, concealability.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. — Noah Webster in "An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution," 1787, in Paul Ford, ed., Pamphlets on the Constitution of the United States, at p. 56 (New York, 1888).
