"I am not a gun snob. Much like politicians, guns are tools for a job. If they do the job, they get my respect. Period. That said, while many members of TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia take the expression 'beware of the man with one gun' to heart, there are times when a gunslinger doesn't get to choose which one gun the bad guys are bewaring of. Gun props or not, a self-defense shooter should be able to pick up any gun and shoot with reasonable accuracy. Just like that. Unless . . . well, let’s just call this post on the $165-ish Hi Point C9 semi-automatic pistol a 'Range Report' rather than a 'Gun Review.' That’ll come later. For now, credit where credit’s due . . ." ...

Self-Defense Tip: How to Draw from an OWB Holster Wearing a SMFV (video story)

"Some of us can't tolerate Inside-the-Waistband Holsters (IWB). So we pocket carry or wear an Outside-the-Waistband (OWB) holster. Come spring, temperature permitting, we have to lose the jacket and don a vest to conceal our concealed carry weapon (CCW). Amongst self-aware armed self-defenders, this garment is known as a Shoot-Me-First Vest (SMFV). Although the myriad of pockets are welcome, bad guys with intelligence (a thankfully rare breed) see an OFWG (Old Fat White Guy) wearing an SMV and think hehehe he’s the first to go RIP. Hence the vest’s nickname. Drawing your gun whilst wearing an SMFV requires practice and . . . weight. Hence the video. ..."

Equally important, the Gen4′s rough texture frame provided crampon-level purchase for my strong hand." ...

"I am proposing a campaign to make July National Firearms Heritage Month and the first week of July 'Teach A Friend To Shoot' week. This right is still important today to keep us safe as a Nation and to preserve our form of government and the unique liberties we enjoy as a nation of free men and women. "When the various committees of Congress finally get around to investigating 'Project Gunwalker' and where it came from, it would seem to me that Dan Restrepo would be a good witness to put under oath. He was the original architect of the Obama Mexico policies while still at the Center for American Progress, and has been in the National security Council with an eagle's eye view of things ever since. We know that this scandal involved considerable inter-agency sharing of information and actions. Such bureaucratic operations across jurisdictional lines require a coordinator, someone at the level of the National Security Council, an Oliver North for example, to oversee the various parts." ...
