"Oath Keepers, who previously helped provide requested security at the Bundy Ranch and for Ferguson business owners, were called in following an April 6 incident when a BLM officer and the Josephine County Sheriff served papers on alleged noncompliance issues involving previously recognized rights for the mining operation. The Oath Keepers presence is intended to secure the mine and property pending the mine operators having their claims heard by a judge."

... "What’s obvious is many gun rights organizations and their members are squandering valuable political resources by not stepping up lobbying efforts using social media. Resistance and objections to signing up include feelings that it’s a waste of time, fear of privacy intrusions, not wanting to join gun-censoring Facebook, or the seemingly ubiquitous 'Molon Labe!' excuse for doing nothing besides leaving occasional blog and forum comments.

Having married into an aristocratic German family and enjoying the title of “Princess” until her divorce, she is the Belgian-born daughter of European Jews, her mother being an Auschwitz concentration camp Holocaust survivor. As such, one would think that she would have special sensitivity to the terrible consequences of disarming citizens. Instead, from her position of sheltered insider privilege, she has chosen to be what my late friend and founder of Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Aaron Zelman, called “bagel-brained,” and what I have termed being a 'kapo for Kristallnacht.'" ... |

"I mentioned that gun owners are now considered mainstream in most of America. Yes, gun owners have finally achieved.. ordinary. Yawn. Measured across the nation, about one in eight adults have a concealed carry permit. More than a third of American families admit they have guns at home. This is significant because criminals act differently when citizens are armed. My neighbor who carries is obviously able to protect herself, but she makes the rest of us safer as well. This is how the theory works. Fewer criminals will be on the street once criminals encounter someone who shoots back. Thugs don’t like guns.. once their victims have guns too. This is more than theory. We have experience to prove it." ... |

"'We still need to close the loopholes,' Rayfield said, according to the newspaper. 'Criminals, as was noted, are still going to attempt to purchase guns. Right now if they can't go through the traditional means they go to private sales, online markets, to gain access to these guns.'"

"A federal district court in North Carolina held Friday that North Carolina may not discriminate against permanent resident noncitizens in issuing licenses to carry concealed guns. (Messmer v. Harrison.) The U.S. Supreme Court’s D.C. v. Heller decision said that general bans on concealed carry of guns are constitutional, because the have been around in many states starting with the early 1800s. But the Supreme Court held that state laws discriminating against noncitizens — even as to activities that aren’t themselves constitutional rights — usually violate the Equal Protection Clause. That seems to be the court’s rationale in this case." ... |
