"A study last year by the Media Research Center that surveyed major network TV coverage of gun-related issues from 1997 to 1999 found that more than half of the 653 stories aired were more editorial than reportorial in their content, and that more than nine out of 10 of these stories had an anti-gun perspective." -by Mary Zeiss Stange, co-author of 'Gun Women: Firearms and Feminism in Contemporary America' |

Edgar Hoover knowingly allowed innocent men to be convicted - and spend decades in prison - for a murder allegedly committed by an FBI witness."--NewsMax.com |

The next time you get a checkup, the doctor might be checking your holster along with your temperature, and some in the medical community say that's just not right. Dr. Tim Wheeler, of the Claremont Institute's Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership, says the gun issue belongs in the Bill of Rights, not Gray’s Anatomy. "We don't believe that firearms are a public health issue," Wheeler said. "Doctors Against Handgun Injury advises doctors to commit ethical boundary violations by misusing the doctor-patient relationship to advance a political agenda against gun owners." |

HB2294 modifies the law to make "displaying a firearm" illegal while on the road. 99% of the time, a firearm is only "displayed" to prevent an attack; and we all read the news on Sierra Times in horror when a good citizen was convicted under a similar law. The bill passed in the Illinois House UNANIMOUSLY and is currently in the Senate Judiciary Committee. CALL YOUR SENATORS, DEMAND THAT THIS BILL IS AMENDED SO AS NOT TO DETER SELF-DEFENSE!!! All they have to do is add "without lawful justification."
KABA NOTE: Also contact the IL Senate Judiciary Committee! |

"A judge ruled Friday that the teenager charged in a deadly school shooting in suburban San Diego will be tried as an adult, rejecting a challenge to a new, voter-approved California law aimed at cracking down on juvenile crime."
Good. He was man enough to kill innocent people; let him be man enough to bear the responsibility for so doing. |

"The following letter has been authenticated and was sent to Fox News Correspondent Rita Cosby. The opening statement was a photocopied statement in McVeigh's writing. The question-and-answer section following it is clearly an original version in McVeigh's writing."
Very enlightening. Wonder how many more McVeighs there will be before government officials begin self-correcting -- or cracking down harder. |

Lets hope so, and let's hope that impact is positive and felt very soon. |

"Geckle defends his brother & himself from critics who said they should have left the lights on to deter the break-in."
~~Give me a break, leave the lights on? Oh yeah, crooks are not afraid of guns, but turn on a light and they run.
KABA NOTE: The JURY found them NOT GUILTY. Now, the "Baltimore Sun" is trying to unofficially convict them with the tone of their article. Send the Sun your feedback!

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
You are bound to meet misfortune if you are unarmed because, among other reasons, people despise you....There is simply no comparison between a man who is armed and one who is not. It is unreasonable to expect that an armed man should obey one who is unarmed, or that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed. In the latter case, there will be suspicion on the one hand and contempt on the other, making cooperation impossible. — Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince." |
