Shootings have surpassed motor vehicle accidents as the top cause of death among children and teenagers. The rate of firearm deaths for underage victims increased more than twice as fast as the overall population from 2019 to 2020.
The news of a local 2-year-old shooting himself forced David Goad of Golem Security Services to act.
“We had just gotten word of this when my company had just gotten done with doing security for some bars for Thunder, and we just didn’t want to sit back and do nothing,” Goad said. |

“We were able to get her on the back porch. We need the police here immediately,” the woman told police dispatchers.
“Are they not able to get out?” asked the dispatcher.
“My husband has them on the back porch. She broke into our back door and my husband was able to come upstairs and catch her,” the woman answered.
“OK, do you know who this woman is?” the dispatcher then asked.
“No, never seen her before in my life and my husband is armed. OK, he has a permit to carry a gun. No one is hurt, but she is sitting on our back porch and we are not going to let her leave until the police get here,” the caller responded. |

Walther Arms introduced its all-new PDP F-Series handgun with an eye toward the growing market of women gun owners, crafting what it calls the "first pistol ever engineered for [the] female hand structure." This all-new design is built around a grip frame that's tailored to the size, shape and contour of a woman's hand. Combined with these improved ergonomics, Walther also engineered a new, patented operating system that requires less force to rack the handgun slide. Both of these elements are mated to the features already found in the company's Performance Duty Pistol series. |

“There are really two situations we are talking about,” said McNairy. “First is the prosecution, the criminal context of the case. First, a minor can be charged as an adult or juvenile for knowingly shooting a firearm at someone unless it’s self-defense. However, the claim you unknowingly shot a firearm there can still be criminal. Repercussions for adults, parents, or other adults who allow potential access to that firearm for endangering the welfare of a child.”
“So, an adult who allowed access to a firearm can be charged with a class a felony or class b felony depending on whether knowingly allowed or if it was criminally allowed.” |

Bond issues for municipalities throughout Oklahoma could become more expensive due to new legislation that would prohibit banks that have “anti-gun” policies from contracting with the state.
That’s all right with the bill’s Senate author, who considers those increased costs as the price of protecting Second Amendment rights.
House 3144, by state Rep. Kevin West, R-Moore, and state Sen. Casey Murdock, R-Felt, is patterned after a bill passed in Texas last year. It passed the Senate with a vote of 37 to 8 and is headed to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s desk to be signed into law. |

To many Texans, the Second Amendment is sacred. Such sensitivity to this matter is probably rooted in the history of these lands.
Back in the days of the Wild West, having a firearm was a matter of life and death. People needed them to defend their families and hard-earned property from trespassers and to hunt wild animals. This way of life prompted the formation of the gun culture that Texas is known for today.
In 2021, a new law took into effect in Texas. According to it, permitless open and concealed carry of a handgun is legal. We are not here to discuss this law and give assessments, though. We only take note of the development of the gun culture in this state. |

A Florida sheriff who recently voiced his support for homeowners shooting and killing home intruders to save the county some money might not be giving the best advice for all such situations.
Speaking to the media after a home-defense episode in which an armed homeowner fired several shots at an intruder, who turned out to be a many-time repeat offender, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson insinuated that with proper training the homeowner might not have missed and saved his officers some trouble.
In fact, as Fox News reported, Johnson said residents in his county are “more than welcome” to shoot anyone who is breaking into their house. |

When she got on the train, she noticed a man who had been watching her boarded the same one, taking the seat right next to hers.
Her discomfort grew to the point where she decided to get off at the next stop that looked crowded and approach a female stranger for help. |

As this was being written, “Twitter prohibits the promotion of weapons and weapon accessories globally.”
According to Twitter:
Some examples of weapons and weapon accessories as defined in the policy include: |

David Chipman, President Joe Biden’s (D) failed nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), continued to keep his anti-gun animus on full display in a recent interview where he doubled down on his previous extreme stances.
After his nomination came up short last September, Chipman later said, “The problem is the gun industry profits by gun violence itself.” He effectively vilified the entire industry that he was nearly in charge of overseeing, all without a shred of evidence. |

Constitutional litigation over the Second Amendment has followed a familiar pattern. In the decade since Heller and McDonald, countless cases have turned on a foundational question: how much danger does the weapon pose? But in 2020, the courts were suddenly presented with a novel constitutional question: how much danger does obtaining the weapon pose? During the COVID-19 pandemic, state and local governments enacted complete prohibitions on the acquisition of firearms. Willing buyers were ready to comply with all extant gun-control regulations. But these governments shuttered firearm stores completely. These policies were adopted not to stop the sale of guns but to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. |

The Missouri Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday a constitutional challenge to the state’s Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) must be heard at the circuit court instead of waiting for the results of other lawsuits.
Republican Gov. Mike Parson signed HB 85, or SAPA, into law last June. The law establishes civil liability and monetary damages of $50,000 per occurrence if state and local law enforcement cooperate with federal officials to enforce any laws, rules, orders or actions violating a Missourian’s Second Amendment rights. |

House Bill 1462, to reduce areas where law-abiding citizens are left defenseless, has been referred to Senate Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight Committee. Please contact committee members and ask them to SUPPORT HB 1462 and schedule it for a hearing.
House Bill 1462 repeals arbitrary “gun-free zones” that do nothing to hinder criminals, while leaving law-abiding citizens defenseless. It removes the prohibition on law-abiding citizens carrying firearms for self-defense on public transit property and in vehicles. This ensures that citizens with varying commutes throughout their day, and of various economic means, are able to exercise their Second Amendment rights and defend themselves. |

It’s far past time that federal marijuana laws caught up to reality. Among so many other repercussions, federal foot-dragging also appears to jeopardize the gun rights of medical marijuana users. Do you like to drink a few beers? You can still own a gun. Do you take legally prescribed opioids? Here’s a Glock 19. But obtain a medical marijuana card and your Second Amendment rights get shaky. That’s unfair and just another in a long list of reasons for the federal government to finally correct its puritanical view of marijuana.
Florida and 36 other states have legalized medical marijuana, and 15 states now allow adults to use marijuana recreationally, similar to how they treat alcohol. |

Donald Trump Jr. is set to launch a new gun advocacy group that he says will fight Democrats' gun control efforts. Fox News Digital reports that Trump Jr. will launch the Second Amendment Task Force, and will serve as chair of the group.
"The Second Amendment is the whole ballgame; it's the freedom that protects all of our other freedoms. Unfortunately the Biden Administration and Democrats in Congress are hellbent on eroding our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms, whether it's nominating radical gun-grabbers to senior positions in the executive branch or pushing anti-gun legislation," Trump Jr. told Fox News Digital. |
