According to a report by Quartz Media, a proposed bill intended to regulate drone use in Connecticut includes a very interesting exemption for law enforcement. While the bill bans civilians from weaponizing the machines in any way, the exemption would allow police officers to outfit drones with both lethal and non-lethal weapons. While details are still in the works, reports indicate that tasers and canisters of tear-gas are two examples of possible weaponry that could be used with the drones. |

The smell of metalworking oil is in the air, and the room buzzes and hums as machines turn billets of metal into custom parts for Wilson Combat's latest pistol. Guy Joubert, the man in charge of product development at the custom gunmaker, moves between the machines, showing the workers the finished product. It's the EDC X9, a firearm with the mechanics of the venerable 1911 pistol mated with the double-stacked magazine that gives modern handgun designs, like those seen in Glocks, the ability to carry more ammunition. |

A recent video featuring Black Lives Matter activist, Janaya Khan, advances a revolutionary notion: abolish the police. While most people’s immediate reaction to such a statement is to dismiss it as ludicrous on its face, it provides an interesting challenge to a generally accepted viewpoint. Ask your average person whether police help or harm society, and most will—without thinking—state that law enforcement is more beneficial than not, that police are generally good and trustworthy, and that without a police force we would be at the mercy of murderers and thugs.

What is a “gun culture?”
Logic dictates this term derives from a source with an agenda - kind of like how “misleading” is used for lying, how “undocumented immigrant” is used to describe someone who came into the country illegally and how — in sports terms — a “possession receiver” is used to describe a wide receiver who can’t run fast. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
...If a man lies under oath or procures the lie of another under oath, if he perjures himself or suborns perjury, he is guilty under the statute law. Under the higher law, under the great law of morality and righteousness, he is precisely as guilty if, instead of lying in a court, he lies in a newspaper or on the stump; and in all probability, the evil effects of his conduct are infinitely more widespread and more pernicious. — Teddy Roosevelt - May 12, 1900 |
