Winchester and the Browning Arms Company joined forces in 2001 to develop the 7mm Winchester Short Magnum (WSM) cartridge. The 7mm WSM was developed for hunting medium- and large-sized game at ranges out to 700 yards, providing a powerful cartridge that hunters can use in many different hunting situations. While it's not recommended for taking dangerous game or predators, it does have excellent performance with all game animals in North America – including elk, deer and most others. Shooting authorities have indicated that the proper bullet must be selected for this cartridge, because the wrong one will not expand sufficiently on deer-sized game. |

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) revoked a Nevada firearm manufacturer’s license following litigation from an anti-gun organization and two states challenging the agency’s decision to reinstate the gunmaker’s license, multiple outlets reported. “ATF hereby reports that, on March 24, 2022, it sent JA Industries a notice of revocation of its firearms license,” a March 30 letter from the ATF said. The letter came after a lawsuit brought by the city of Kansas City, Missouri, and the state of Illinois as well as Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun-control group partly founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other mayors, challenged the ATF’s decision to grant a license to JA Industries, USA Today reported. |

Our efforts with America’s various legislative bodies are, of course, critical to immediate threats to the Second Amendment. Those efforts, including election activities, are also critical to being able to move the practical application of our right to keep and bear arms closer to what was originally envisaged by our Founding Fathers. But, as we often state, what happens in the courts will usually carry longer-term dividends.

The nine-month to a year wait for ATF approval to legally possess a suppressor has been reduced in dramatic fashion—to 90 days, likely less—thanks to the Dec. 23 launch of a new electronically available Form 4. Some experts are confident the figure will be a few weeks as the anticipated digital rush clears. Despite the hearing-health benefits, suppressors were included in the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934. There they’ve stayed, along with fully automatic firearms, short-barreled long guns and destructive devices.

An incoming shipment of U.S.-made ‘Switchblade’ drones will not include the most effective version of that weapon, despite Ukrainian hopes to acquire the variant that can destroy armored Russian military targets, as President Joe Biden's team balances Ukrainian requests for aid against logistical challenges and the potential for additional Russian aggression.
