"The headline, in a nutshell, says it all. For it succinctly provides the reasoning, of the Founders of our country, in having an armed citizenry. Pretty simple isn’t it? Now, if things were as they were intended to be. The average citizen, upon reading the above, would think or say, yeah…so?"

"But, since things are NOT as they were intended to be. Endless amounts of articles, that rehash similar points repeatedly, are necessary. Which article will be the one that gets those, Usurping against the American citizens Right to Keep and Bear Arms, to see the light? Which piece of writing will prove to be the magic bullet? The one, which will cause those Usurping against our Second Amendment Right, to cease in their attempts?" ...

"Week after week, I see articles from around the world about incoming illegal guns. Today, I read an article which wonders where they come from."

"This is not even germane to the predicament, for it reflects a misunderstanding of the very nature of the problem, and therefore its straightforward solutions."

"Many nations oppose weapons for oppressive reasons, not for reasons of justice or for keeping the peace. For many nations, keeping the peace is code for oppression ..."

"In free nations, it’s getting closer to that, because it confuses the concept of illegal guns with lawful guns and lawful, righteous intention, and therefore confuses their respective purposes."

"To frame the issues as if they are identical is a lie." ...

"Anthony Cucchiara, owner of a California gun store, has sold at least 27 guns linked to homicides, according to Congressional investigators. He has lost a minimum of 1,766 guns and perhaps as many as 7,477, according to Federal investigators."

"His business, Trader Sports, Inc., is open for business as usual today, because Cucchiara is suing Federal agents for revoking his firearms license. And, 'if his store is shut down, it could be open again faster than it takes to empty a thirty- round clip on an AK-47, with a new owner. You couldn't make up a fictional gun dealership much worse than Trader Sports,' says Jim Brady, the former press secretary to President Reagan who was shot 25 years ago last week. "My 6-year-old emptied his piggy bank and then went hunting for the toy of his dreams. It would take his life savings (about $7), but he was willing to plunk down his whole bag of change for a long sword, a dagger and a bow and arrow with suction cup darts."

"And here I am, the weapon-hating mom who has banned guns and confiscated water pistols. And here's my 6-year-old looking up at me with a light in his eyes. He's picturing himself a swashbuckling knight. He doesn't know that I'm envisioning the life of crime that could begin this very day. And yet, how can I say no to this boy with the shining eyes?" ...

"Were this the best of all possible worlds, we would fire three rifle shots at a target, peer downrange, and see three holes clustered within the area of a dime at precisely the right place. But this is not the best of all possible worlds, in that it has a place for chiggers, bad cholesterol, rabies, abdominal fat, leprosy, and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). And in this vale of sorrow, we often look at our targets and see horror, chaos, and disorder. (It occurs to me that I am being unfair to leprosy. ...)"

FULL TEXT BELOW:

A Roselawn store owner turned the tables on a would-be robber late Monday night.

Cincinnati police said the owner of the Shop-Rite on Reading Road told them a man walked into the store shortly after 9:30 p.m. and attempted to rob him.

The owner said he pulled out a gun and shot at the robber. He told officers that he thought he hit the man in the leg.

Just before 11 p.m., a man came to the emergency room at University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers responded to the hospital and determined that the victim may be the robbery suspect.

"This last Thursday night ... the sound of out-of-sync chanting reached my window. When I checked outside my window, I realized it was the Take Back the Night Rally ... I realized the hypocrisy of several of the groups participating in this march, as well as the university as a whole. I am speaking of the denial of a woman’s most basic right, her right to self-defense."

"Virginia Tech, as well as most universities in Virginia, refuses to allow holders of concealed carry permits to carry their firearms on collegiate campuses. Never mind the fact that people who receive concealed carry permits have to undergo a rigorous examination and background check before they are issued the permit." ...

An amendment that would have shot down the final pro-gun passage out of the measure (HB 129) was withdrawn only as a courtesy to the chairman of the House panel, Rep. "Gun advocates and business owners watched a contested bill to let gun owners bring their guns to work and keep them locked in their cars crawl out a first committee Tuesday."

"It took six tries for lawmakers in the House Judiciary Committee to move the bill (HB 129) past its first stop. They offered a tweaked version: Gun owners could keep their weapons locked in their cars at work, unless businesses- like security outfits and hazardous waste companies - showed a compelling safety concern to ban the practice. This could include banning individual employees who have a history of violence or problems with the company. Plus businesses wouldn't be responsible for any crimes." ...
