"I spent five years as a videotape editor at CNN, watching reporters put plate spinners to shame. I emerged from the experience with a profound understanding of how easy it is to appear objective while pushing an agenda, sometimes unconsciously, sometimes intentionally and deviously. So when I read the salon.com article A gun lover sees the evils of gun culture: White supremacists, Obama haters, and me, my first instinct was to call bullsh*t. It simple doesn’t ring true. For one thing, there’s this . . ." ...

... "What’s the common thread in all of these cases? No background checks. A stolen gun in Seattle didn’t change hands legitimately, and neither did all the firearms sold to criminals by that guy in Monroe. Guns stolen from a single Michigan Police Department certainly aren’t involved in legitimate commerce, especially when used by a clumsy teen in an apparent drug rip-off." ...

"Firearms Policy Coalition announced its support of a new documentary film, Protecting Liberty, helmed by noted Second Amendment gun rights commentator and experienced filmmaker Billy Johnson."

"Johnson, whose AmidsTheNoise YouTube channel instantly revolutionized civil rights-focused video commentary, decided to take on the project after contributing to NRA News for over a year."

"'The media-fed misperception that we are less safe, and that guns are the cause, has been used repeatedly to deny our Second Amendment rights,' explained Johnson. 'It's time we take an honest look at the true state of violence in America, what causes it, and what we are doing to decrease it.' ..." ...

"Guns are used to deter and foil crime, but this reality eludes many gun-grabbers. Typically, the media also ignore such stories, enabling the grabbers to continue in their delusion that gun control will diminish violence, when all it really does is disarm the law-abiding."

"I find it very encouraging that the CBS television affiliate in Atlanta aired the news report embedded below. Perhaps the fact that dramatic surveillance video showed the victim being driven away while clinging to the hood of her car and the hero bystander pursuing with his gun drawn had something to do with it. ..." ...

Police reports indicate the incident occurred at roughly 2:35 a.m. when one of the women inside the residence ventured out into the complex hallway."

"Upon stepping outside of the apartment, the victim reportedly met 30-year-old Quintavious Reed, who then pushed her back inside in an apparent attempt to rob the residents. Unfortunately for him, however, he was not the only individual at the scene with a firearm. At least one of Reed’s victims was also armed and was able to pull out his gun and shoot him." ...

"At a recent town hall meeting in Whippany, Gov. Chris Christie was asked if he would make N.J. the 48th state to recognize the right to carry a firearm for self-protection. He replied that although he supports the Second Amendment, it would require an act of the legislature to change the law."

"N.J. offers a permit to carry a handgun but the statute requires you to demonstrate 'justifiable need' to be granted such a permit. The definition of 'justifiable need' is so onerous that qualification is nearly impossible. Interestingly, this definition of 'justifiable need' is not found in the statute. The definition of 'justifiable need' is found in the administrative code which was written and adopted by the executive branch." ...
