"That is bad news for Britons, whose only defense against armed criminals is the unarmed police force. Well-intended people in Britain have disarmed the public. But, of course, the laws banning guns are ignored by the criminal element, who now are stockpiling weapons. Those are the tools that make their work easier."

~~My clients in Britain and England refuse to believe these stories. I wonder where their heads are at? :)

"Consider the case of a Dakota County man, John Christoffel, who is facing a felony charge because of actions he took in trying to defend a dog that was being bludgeoned to death by a man with a sledgehammer."

~~Face "terrorist threats" charges for trying to save a friend? The attacker of that friend gets what doesn't even amount to a slap on the wrist and he'll never know just how lucky he was not to have faced someone with my attitude.

~~This is almost unbelievable, but not quite -- because we are talking about Britain. It's hard not to laugh at these people.

"Brendon Fearon has been declared a "victim of serious crime" by the Home Office counselling service and asked for his views on Martin's release date, The Telegraph can reveal. Martin is serving a life sentence for wounding Fearon and killing his teenage accomplice, Fred Barras, with a shotgun in an attempt to defend his property. The Home Office has ruled that as a "victim" Fearon, who has 34 convictions for burglary, theft and handling stolen goods, and is currently serving three years for the break-in, must be consulted about Martin's parole."

Taking stock of America's real gun culture
Submitted by: Angel Shamaya

"The gun culture is a fundamental part of American culture as a whole. Members of America’s gun culture don’t live in a vacuum. They serve on school boards; they attend town meetings; they go to neighborhood parties and community picnics; they go to their jobs in large and small places of business. They have incorporated guns into their lives, and many of them really aren’t interested in changing that fact. Until critics of guns and the gun culture recognize that fact, they are only going to alienate gun owners and polemicize the gun debate. Neither result will further a goal sought by both sides: to reduce the amount of violence in American society." --Abigail Kohn

"Gunmen firing from a station wagon shot four people in three separate incidents Sunday, killing one person and injuring three others."

--Interesting how these recent multiple-victim shootings seem to be happening in certain states: California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and now Missouri... all NON shall-issue states. Will politicians ever learn?

Bullying is old school; guns new

Commentary: "The problem of bullying is, of course, nothing new. And it will never go away."

KABA NOTE: Rodger Mullen, staff columnist of 'The Fayetteville (NC) Observer', claims: "While bullying may be eternal, there is a big difference between then and now. Today, bullies -- and more importantly, the bullied -- seem to have quick and easy access to firearms."

He doesn't mention when it was that he was in school, but anti-gun laws have only gotten MORE infringing as the years have gone by, NOT LESS. Guns were MORE available when he was in school. So, the "availability" couldn't be it. Perhaps the reason for the "rash of recent school shootings" is that they are getting so much more publicity recently, despite the fact that they rarely happen.

Then he goes on to say to his school bully: "So wherever you are, J.T., consider yourself lucky."

Lucky? Is he implying that he wishes he did have a gun to get rid of his bully, even after saying how "glad" he is that he didn't know where to get one when he was in school?

"Criminal gangs are arming themselves with Chinese-made handguns smuggled into Australia in their thousands each year," the NSW Shooters Party MP, Mr. John Tingle, said yesterday.

~~Yeah, OK, so lets go harass more law abiding citizens who own guns.

Zero Tolerance, Zero Sense

Scroll down to the 9th article, by Dr. David Stolinsky:
"'Zero tolerance' for weapons has become standard procedure in our schools. The motive is admirable, but in practice the idea is often carried to counterproductive extremes. ... I wonder whether anyone can explain why we rear our children to be 'tolerant' of all forms of behavior, yet to have 'zero tolerance' for objects and actions that are not intrinsically harmful."

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Most reporters are very sympathetic to gun-control agendas and will skew or lie outright about facts to promote them. — DENNIS CAUCHON, USA TODAY
