The top athletes have been determined for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) Three-Position Regional Air Rifle Championship! The event was held in April at CMP’s own air gun competition centers in Ohio and Alabama as well as through the use of CMP’s mobile electronic range in Utah.
The annual, national-level competition series is designed for junior air rifle marksmen involved in 4-H, Scouts, American Legion, club or JROTC sporter and precision air rifle programs. Athletes begin with a postal match, followed by regional and national events. During the match, athletes fire from three positions: prone, standing and kneeling. |

Things went from bad to worse for Washington state gun owners on April 25, when anti-Second Amendment Gov. Jay Inslee (D) signed a punitive ban on many common semi-automatic firearms. As he did so Gov. Inslee chided each and every owner of the more-than-24-million semi-automatic rifles currently owned and used for hunting, sport shooting, competition and self-defense in the United States, by saying, “No one needs an AR-15 to protect your family. You only need it to kill other families.” |

Gun owners would not have to have liability insurance and governments would not be allowed to charge fees to possess guns or knives if a bill in the Ohio Legislature becomes law. The bill, which moves to the Ohio House after passing the Senate, would stop communities from requiring gun owners from carrying liability insurance and paying an annual fee.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said Friday that a special lawmaking session dedicated to possible changes to the state's gun laws in the wake of a deadly school shooting last month would likely have to take place after July 4. “I think the ideal solution is that we find a way to do what most people think is important, which is to make sure that people that are a threat to themselves or others because of a mental crisis, that people that are a threat do not have access to weapons,” the Republican governor told reporters in Covington on Friday. |

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) aimed his latest criticism of Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley at an issue not usually embraced by Democratic lawmakers: proper gun etiquette.
In a tweet on Saturday, Haley posted a photo holding a gun at a shooting range as a way to promote her campaign’s stance on the military and ensuring the country has “the equipment they need to keep us safe.” The photo prompted backlash from some Twitter users, criticizing the GOP candidate for the way she was holding the weapon.

One of the most popular handgun cartridges available on the market today, the .380 Automatic Colt Pistol (ACP) is an easy-to-carry self-defense cartridge. With a variety of small, lightweight compact pistols chambered in this caliber, its mild recoil and minimal muzzle blast make it a popular choice among those who carry concealed, police officers looking for a capable back-up gun, and general backyard plinkers and target shooters. |

When doing gun reviews, the duty of the gun writer is to be as objective as possible. My personal opinions are not as important as an honest report on the gun’s quality of manufacture, accuracy, form and function. You, the consumer, on the other hand, should approach the same gun from a very subjective position. Let me give you an example.

Beretta released its PX4 Storm line in the 1990s without much fanfare, but it since has developed something of a cult-like following. It is one of the few modern polymer-framed pistols that is hammer-fired with a traditional double/single-action trigger still being produced today – to say nothing of the fact that is soft-shooting, highly reliable, and accurate.

Democrats on Capitol Hill have introduced bicameral legislation that takes aim at the more than 2 million already highly regulated firearm suppressors in circulation. The proposal, dubbed the "Help Empower Americans to Respond," or HEAR, Act, was introduced last month by U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez and U.S. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, both New Jersey Democrats. The move would ban the importation, sale, manufacturing, transfer, and possession of suppressors with narrow exceptions for the devices' continued use by law enforcement or the military.
