"The Bush administration is under fire following reports the government has a secret database of phone calls from millions of everyday Americans. The National Security Agency began collecting the information following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11."
"Three major telephone companies helped the government collect the information. ...That printout of your phone calls that many Chicago area consumers get each month is the same one that also goes to the government in a database that has charted hundreds of millions of calls." "Although the administration isn't even acknowledging existence of the spy agency program, there is no doubt that it has been underway for several years. ..." |

"Six years after he verbally attacked two prominent leaders of the religious right, charging that they'd helped to kill his presidential campaign, Sen. John McCain is making up with one of them and hoping that Christian conservatives will help him win the 2008 Republican presidential nomination." ...
"He said they agreed on what he called the two most pressing issues to social conservatives: opposing abortion and gay marriage. He said they disagreed over how to combat gay marriage... "
"He also said they disagreed on issues such as gun control and global warming, but added: 'Those are not deal breakers. Faith and family are. And we're together on them.'" |

"A recent article covering Michigan’s proposed Castle Doctrine law prompted this response from the Brady Campaign:"
"'This law is a terrible signal to send to people, that if you had second thoughts before, rest assured the government is on your side, so go ahead and kill somebody,' said Peter Ham [sic] of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence in Washington, D.C. 'It makes my stomach turn.'"
"What is most curious is the common thread throughout Brady literature and media statements: their organization focuses on killing, not the dynamics of situations which may require the use of deadly force." |

"One could spend all day raising serious questions about the merits of this study. First of all, have you ever tried to put "Mouse Trap" together? It's really hard, emasculating even, perhaps to the point of causing testosterone to plummet to tea-party-with-your-toddler levels. And why a game at all? Why not a motor or something equally benign but a bit more, you know, manly? And maybe adding extra hot sauce has less to do with aggression than it does with testosterone's effects on a desire for spicy food? ..." |

"Regardless of the ongoing debate, local crime prevention officers say it's better to arm your home than yourself."
"Senior Dep. Larry Logan of the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department said that gun ownership requires a great deal of responsibility-both in handling and storing the weapon. Oftentimes, Logan said, homeowners grab a gun in the middle of the night after a strange noise in the house awakens them. It's in those 'halfasleep' moments that many accidents occur." |

"Anthony Cucchiara, the owner of Trader Sports, has sued DOJ for revoking his license. DOJ's revelations were made in papers filed during appeal of the lawsuit last Thursday. ATF is prohibited by gun lobby-supported restrictions in Federal appropriations legislation from releasing the same information in response to requests by the public or journalists."
"In its papers, DOJ highlighted the importance of crime gun trace data in linking gun dealers to illegal guns. 'The public interest weighs heavily in favor of keeping firearms out of the hands of those persons who would do harm with them, and again Trader Sports knows of its impact on public safety because it receives the trace requests, which again highlights why Trader Sports and all other dealers should 'sweat the details' in keeping records of firearm acquisition and disposition,' Justice attorneys wrote." |

"The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence today released a report documenting a concerted effort by the gun lobby, its allies in Congress, and the Bush Administration to suppress crime gun trace data exposing the complicity of gun dealers in supplying the illegal gun market in order to aid gunmakers in civil court cases and shield the industry from negative public attention."
"The Brady Center's report reveals for the first time that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), during the Bush Administration, deliberately withheld from the public information in a key internal document on the gun dealers who supply the most guns to crime -- a document that ATF shared in full with the gun industry." |

Attorney General Tom Reilly along with Marlboro and Lowell police officials discussed the results of a BB-gun sting today.
It involved the illegal sale of air rifles and BB-guns to minors.
The state was able to use an underage teen to buy the weapons on the Internet. Sellers never asked the teen for a proper identification.
Reilly says that because the BB-guns look so much like the real thing it is a major concern. He added that if BB-gun providers don't stop selling the weapons to under aged teens online, he will sue them. |

"Melton has accompanied police officers as they conduct warrantless searches of homes, cars, and individuals. The mayor has even placed private citizens in 'protective custody' without alerting the local district attorney. They may call it 'protective custody' in Jackson, but it looks more like kidnapping from where I’m sitting."
"Melton’s attire while going on these police raids may also violate the law. The mayor carries a holstered pistol, which the state attorney general’s office classifies as carrying a concealed firearm. There’s one problem: Until last week, Melton didn’t have a concealed carry license, meaning Melton could have been carrying one of those “illegal guns” he’s vowed to go after." |

And then of course there is the all too familiar cry 'With those numbers come some startling statistics.' And then they cite one of the most flawed 'Gun Control' reports ever perpetrated, the New England Journal of Medicine '1993; 329: 1084-1091. Kellermann, AL, Rivara FP, Somes G, et al. 'Suicide in the home in relationship to gun ownership.'" . "The NEJM article was debunked by Dr. Edgar Suter and others years ago. This is a new site I started after working for a distributor for a long time. The whole idea is to create a network of dealers who have a constant link of communication to keep them informed what is going on in what area of the firearms industry. It also allows a valid dealer to operate through a website even if they do not have one. My sole intention is for people to share their knowledge with everyone, so stand up and be a leader the industry needs your input. |
