Socialists are desperate for a distraction. Gun control is just the distraction they need. Hillary Clinton said she was an enemy of the NRA. I’ve yet to hear a “gun control” proposal Secretary Clinton doesn’t support. I don’t think guns are the real issue. Clinton’s war on guns is simply smoke and mirrors to distract the voters and the media from failed Socialist policies.
We tried Socialism. It killed our several of our major cities. Now the Socialists want to take their failure nation wide.
First, they need someone to blame. |

State representatives voted to change the standards for when police and citizens can use deadly force. The 107 - 43 vote in the House on Thursday would bring the state's laws on when police can use deadly force into line with a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 1985.
The bill says an officer could only use deadly force if a suspect is dangerous. Missouri's current law doesn't specify that a suspect must be dangerous.
The legislation also would expand Missouri's "stand your ground" law to make it easier for people to use deadly force in self-defense. |

Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney Justin Lovett has announced that law enforcement has completed the investigation of an August 2015 incident that resulted in the death of two individuals. Lovett confirmed no charges were appropriate since the evidence could only support the conclusion that the victim justifiably shot an intruder in self-defense.
Prosecutor Lovett stated, “Citizens have the right to defend themselves. The completed investigation confirms the preliminary indications that Emily Johnetta Adkins shot Paul Mark Christian in self-defense; therefore Adkins will not be subject to any charges for the justified shooting.” |

The University of Texas System's regents on Thursday postponed until July a vote on proposed rules allowing concealed handguns in campus classrooms and buildings due to concerns that some might be too restrictive.
Regents said they needed more time to consider proposals at the flagship campus in Austin that allow teachers to ban weapons from their offices, and prohibit keeping a bullet in the chamber of a semi-automatic weapon.
Gun-rights groups have criticized both proposed rules as impractical and dangerous, and the board signaled they could be changed at the July meeting. |

Chalk up another victory up for NOVA Armory. The suburban Virginia firearms store beat back an appeal late Wednesday night that asked the Arlington County Zoning Board to revoke its small business occupancy permit.
The five-member board voted unanimously to uphold issuing the occupancy certificate to NOVA Armory, though board members stressed that their decision was based on zoning rules rather than the Second Amendment. |

According to Chris Cox, executive director of The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action, Clinton is wrong on all fronts.
“A majority of Americans support this freedom, and the Supreme Court was absolutely right to hold that the Second Amendment guarantees the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms,” he said last year. “Hillary Clinton’s extreme views are completely out of touch with the American people.”
Ed.: Of course she doesn't want to repeal it, she just wants to ignore it. |

A federal appeals court in California is expected to rule soon on whether states can force firearm manufacturers to incorporate safety devices in their products, a development that could have broad effect on whether and how quickly President Barack Obama’s recent calls for more “smart guns” takes effect.
The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, which covers a wide swath of the West, is weighing a challenge to a California law requiring manufacturers to make handguns that won’t fire a bullet left in the chamber if their magazines are detached, and that will indicate when a bullet is in the chamber. |

In 36 states, there are no legal requirements for gun registration, no permit needed and no license necessary to purchase and own a firearm such as a rifle, shotgun, or handgun. Due to the lack of these regulations, as well as the ease with which many Americans can purchase guns online or at gun shows, most guns in the United States are not registered.
Only a few million privately owned guns in the U.S. are registered with the federal government. The actual number of guns, however, is certainly far higher. Last year alone, U.S. gun makers manufactured more than 10 million firearms. According to a 2012 estimate from the Congressional Research Service, there are as many as 310 million guns across the nation. |

Yesterday, a South Carolina Senate committee passed a bill banning the enforcement of any future federal gun control measures. If signed into law, this would render them “nearly impossible to enforce,” but it faces an uphill battle to get a vote on the Senate floor.
Rep. Mike Pitts introduced House Bill 4701 (H4701) on Jan. 19. Titled the Second Amendment Preservation Act, the bill garnered 31 cosponsors and passed by House by a 64-30 vote on March 3. Four Democrats joined with Republicans in support of the measure. |

In the biggest gun grab in American history, the Obama White House wants to retroactively nullify the Second Amendment rights of millions of Americans who receive Social Security benefits, who get those payments through “representative payees.” |

The Senate’s judiciary chairman pledged Thursday to hold a hearing this summer on legislation extending the allowed time for background checks on gun sales, though he expects them to go no further.
Sen. Larry Martin made the promise while persuading senators to advance a bill on concealed weapon permits. It came after Sen. Marlon Kimpson, D-Charleston, reiterated his pledge to block any pro-gun bill “until we have a hearing.” |

Yesterday, state Representative Kathleen Willis proposed an amendment to Rep. Michael Madigan’s shell bill, House Bill 1016. As we reported earlier last week, former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords joined with anti-gun Illinois legislators to announce their creation of an anti-gun coalition.
While the purported intent of this coalition was to enhance “responsible business practices,” this proposed legislation only proves that their express intention is to close as many federally licensed firearm dealers (FFLs) as possible. |
